    Annual Florence Court Sporting Dog Show Sunday 26th May 2013 The annual Florence Court Sporting Dog Show and Racing will be held on Sunday 26th May 2013 under Northern Ireland Lurcher Racing Club (NILRC) rules. These Rules can be viewed on the NILRC face book page. This show will be the first qualifer for "Mick the Miller Elite Golden Coat Challenge", the final of which will be held at Florence Court 2014. Further details will be posted later. Due to Seamus Irvine retiring, Ian Greer has been asked to take over the running of Florence Court show for the National Trust. May we all wish Ian

    Up Dated List of Dog Shows at 28th May 13 Saturday 1st June 2013 Fiona Devlins Dog Show At Annaghmore Raceway (Trotting Track) Co Armagh The Northern Ireland Sporting Dog Club are holding their Dog Show and Racing on Saturday the 1st June 2013,at Annaghmore Raceway (Trotting Track )and will be run under NILRC rules. Racing for Lurchers and Whippets. Entries from 10am. The show will be a qualifer for the 5 Nations at Birr Castle, and both the winners of the under and overs will be qualifers for the Master Mc Grath.     North West Lurcher, Terrier, and Whippet Club Show Sunday 12th May 13 Another great day of Racing, Showing , Excitement and laughter was had by all at the new venue of the North West Lurcher,Terrier, and Whippet Club Show, held at Killynaught Road , Artigarvan , Strabane,Co Tyrone last Sunday 12th May. 13. This new show ground was superb with a good long Racing Track, views to die for, and loads of room in the show rings. Ringside parking was laid on ,with Toilet facilities , and a burger van on site to keep hunger at bay. The weather was not kind with torrential rain pouring down

    Mourne, Drive into Newcastle Co Down straight through the town and out the Kilkeel road about 4 mile on the left hand side of the road. There will be somebody at the roadside guiding people in, so you cant miss it.

    Barrontop Fun Farm are hosting a Lurcher,Terrier and Whippet Dog Show and Raceday on Saturday the 15th June 2013 . All the usual classes, lovely Trophys, and Cash Prizes for each of the Overall winners. A donation will be made to the Foyle Hospice from the proceeds of this show. Entry Fee will be £4 and £2 to show or race your dog. Barrontop is one of the finest venues for dog shows in Northern Ireland, and has proved itself to be just this in the past.So put this date in your show diary, and come along and enjoy a day out at Barrontop with all the fun of the fair with dogs and family in tow.

    Hey everyone, The Field of Dreams Schooling Track, have started their flapping meeting. These will take place every Sunday to further notice, and all dogs must be weighed in before 12noon. This is the ideal opportunity for those who have pups and want to get them running with a full field of dogs. We have four distances, 325, 350, 525 and 550 yds. No clearance trials required just bring your dog/pup and it will be graded on the day. Unraced pups must s...how their books. There will be bookies, refreshments etc on site.     A brilliant idea Albert, Come on all Lurcher men and women up and down the country., Get your dogs into the obedience ring and be proud of them. After all they work hard for you in the hunting season.Now they deserve their day.Some lovely Workng Lurchers out there in the Country and give them their moment of glory at Shanes Castle.

    Benefits of our Dog Shows /Race days and Game Fairs I had the pleasure to Present on behalf of the NILRC and "Field of Dreams " A Cheque for £ 1,515 to the Neo-Natal Unit, at Antrim Hospital, proceeds of our Charity Dog Show and Race Day held at the " Field of Dreams Schooling Greyhound Track ", Gulladuff, Maghera on the 28th April 13. On Tuesday evening this week, I spent 30minutes in the Neo Natal Unit at Antrim Hospital, observing the wonderful work, total dedication and absolute care and attention given to our little ones as they arrive in this big world of ours.     Had a very relaxing day at Dessie Mackins 2nd Dog Show of the year which took place on Saturday 4th May 13 at Gilford, Co Down.. Although the crowd could of been bigger, the craic and the banter was good with like minded people, all there with their families and friends. . The weather was kind for a change, and brought the Canine world and their young folk out for a day of fun and frolics at Dessies Dog Show and Raceday. The show started at 12.15 noon, with the Racing first on the list. Dessie called the heats out in succession, no time delay, and all went completely without a hitch.

    Would have to agree with Lady Jane, Muzzles should be compulsory at every show. Nobody wants a dog to suffer unnecessary, and big Vet bills on top of that, Also can create bad blood between individual dog owners when this happens. Be sensible, no muzzle, no run.
