  2. Ballinlough Castle, a hidden gem in the Irish countryside was the venue for last Sundays Lurcher, Terrier & Whippet dog show. It was a lovely family day out, for all our great Canine followers and their families who travelled from North and South of the border. There was a big turn out of Lurchers, Terriers, & Whippets at this show, the judges done a great job, with a very difficult remit, and the weather did not let us down either, with the exception of a few showers. It was great to meet up with old friends and also some new ones.Congratulations to all the winners, too nemurous to me

  4. Situated in the picturesque green hills of Donemana, Barrontop Fun Farm was the perfect place to day for a brilliant and most enjoyable Dog Show. We started off at 8.30 am today from our house in convoy with Mickey Quinn and his son Michael. As we approached Barron Top the rain poured down with a vengenance. But the Gods were definately shining on Barron Top to day, when the showing started the rain disappeared and the sun came out, with the exception of a few small showers. A big congratulations to all the worthy winners. Many, many thanks to George Megarill( Barron Top Owner ) for the care a
  5. Yes If I could change the ways of our 4 Whippets I would. They are all so attached to Big John as he is known in the doggie world, my husband. He has them ruined. When I go to show any of them in the ring, they wont even walk for me, try to run them they wont move for me.They will do anything for John. It has become very embarrassing for me.They jump and and pull on the lead to I have to leave the ring with them. Yet they walk and show and win in the ring for him all the time. They are definately one man dogs our whippets is.Our lurchers are no problem, they will walk with me anytime. A very
  6. The Northern Ireland contingent will be there. Good luck with the show
  7. Deidre,(Bluebell) you are the real winner of the day. These pics bring such enjoyment into all the homes of every person who attended the show on Sunday. Excellent pictures of a wonderful day. What would we do without you to record our happy moments and our few minutes of fame. A job well done Deidre, and the show was for such a rewarding cause. Looking forward to next years show. 8. We live in a bungalow with a small wood behind us. I cannot leave a window open, because the place is crawling with grey squirrels. They even get up on the roof and crawl down the side of the walls. They are a complete menace, vermin.I beleive they are very dangerous if cornered in a confined space. I would not express an opinion on this topic , because I would probably end up in jail.
  9. macker use a trail of bread crumbs for a sat nav And the birds were out in force it seems, lol. Yes the birds have flew the coup for good, look out boys, the women are hunting and winning all around them at these shows, Women power rules. Gone are the days when we were chained to the kitchen sink. Get used to it.
  10. Bluebell took all the pics, and she will be putting them up later. I think she already has a few on.
  11. We started out from Armagh in convoy at 8.00am on Sunday morning for Westmeath, leading the way was Patsy and Deidre Mc Coy. After 2 1/2 hours we finally reached our destination safe and sound . Many thanks to Patsy for that. Although it rained all the way to Mearse Court House, the gods were looking down on us, it stopped raining when the showing started. Mearse Court House is set in the heart of the Westmeath countryside, between Mullingar and Ballymahon in the South of Ireland and it is a place you would die for. It is surrounded by wonderful country side scenery, greenery, and animal life
  12. Looking forward to your show on Sunday. Should be a good day. Will be leaving about 8.00am
  13. Its good for the ego, if you dont take it too seriously. Also if you work all week and are to tired to work your lurcher, which in our case is, the shows are a great form of relaxation at the weekends.Through the lurcher, terrier and whippet shows and clubs over the years we have made so many good friends in the Kanine fraternity, and have met people from all over the globe, and from all walks of life. Whatever turns you on.
  14. Congratulations to Karl & Evelyn Kerr on winning the Overall Sunday Life Newspaper competition for dogs with their beautiful dog " Digger ". Well done " Digger ". and congratulations to all the runner ups. See you all at Shanes Castle at the weekend.
