  1. Another vote here for the Winchester. In my opinion the SX3 is the best quality, value for money Shotgun out there
  2. something fishy here . I dont suppose this Miller91, is also the above starter of this thread liam peel by any chance is it. Both from Sunderland, both only posted once, and both asking to shoot Rabbits, Rats and maybe Birds too
  3. What ever you do dont admit that you over tightened the bolts. Just plead ignorant and say that the bolts have been coming loose ever since you bought the rifle which is why you are bringing it back to them to have it checked out. It's like anything in life, never admit liability unless you have to, Good luck, John
  4. Is this a wind up your 1st post is to ask on an open forum where is best to break the law to go poaching with a gun?? Google armed trespass and let us know how you get on. Exactly what i was thinking. If it's not a wind up then the postee must be of a very young and immature nature even to consider poaching, let alone asking people where to go and do it
  5. Glad you got it sorted PLEDGEY. And congratulations on your SX3 purchase. I bought my SX3 about a year ago and i love it to bits. I opted for the 3.5'' composite model, as i do a lot of pest control out in the field, and i couldn't bare the thought of scratching up a nice wooden stock. Just keep her clean mate and she'll last you for years, John
  6. Maybe this will help too : http://www.ar15armory.com/forums/reverse-safety-Brown-t101500.html
  7. Exactly what i was going to say, especially the tongue photo
  8. Thanks, just the info i was after. 33 full body decoys and a net is probably a bit more than i will be taking to the shoot anyway, John
  9. Come on lads , what do you guys use when carrying decoying equipment to the shoot
  10. Hi all My existing Pigeon decoying bag / sack has finally fallen to pieces and i am looking to replace it. I am thinking of buying the jack pyke maxi decoy bag as it seems quite sturdy and holds a fair bit of kit. I was just wondering if anybody has tried this or a similar bag , or can reccommend another. The main problem for me is that, I dont have access to a 4/4 so all my gear has to be carried by myself and pulled on a trolly to the shoot. Any advice will be greatly appreciated, Regards, John http://jackpyke.co.u...&productId=1746
  11. As above , well that's what i done on my first application , and all went through without any problems John
  12. Hi nod As remi 700 suggested , if i was you i would make my own. I found the following 2 videos on the tube on how to make short and tall sticks and both were cheap and simple to make John Short sticks : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fn33UdmMJtA Long sticks : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqsQjpx87zo
  13. I've just renewed both my Shotgun and Fac ( coterminous Certificates ) and it took just over a month from when i posted off the forms to when the tickets landed on my carpet. My local area is Hertfordshire Constabulary John
  14. As above, but in my opinion the Bennelli still has more felt recoil than my Gas / Active valve system Winchester SX3 , Still a top notch shotgun though, John
  15. Just curious lads but which of these calibres produces the loudest muzzle crack, the17HMR or the17 mach2. I am considering putting in for a variation for one of these calibres, and am leaning towards the mach2. However, i seem to have read somewhere that the ammo for the mach 2 is getting hard to find, is this true or is this the case in certain areas only, John
  16. As above I bought my SX3 3.5'' Composite about 2 years ago, and although it's not FAC, i have never had any problems what so ever. The gun is extremely smooth to shoot and the recoil is virtually nill. My best friend shoots a Benelli FAC, and to be honest i prefer my SX3 anyday. In my opinion it's probably the best value for money, quality semi auto out there John
  17. A big welcome to THL bladesmanjon , loads of useful info on this forum John
  18. As above, that's what i use on my CZ Varmint , and to be honest, i can't really imagine anything being much quietier when using subsonic ammo
  19. They are. Last summer i purchsed my first pigeon magnet , by memory i paid about £70, and it came with 2 free foam pigeons. I then decided to buy 2 Hypa Flaps from the ukshootwarehouse to put on the whirley, and combined, the two really do draw in the old woodies, John
  20. As above , in my neck of the woods anyway. When you apply for or renew an FAC you only need one piece of suitable land that has been cleared for that particular calibre. If you find new permissions in the near future, you just need to inform your local constabulary and they will tell you if that particular piece of land is suitable or not, John
  21. There is obviously something wrong somewhere if the trigger is that hard to pull & let off. I suppose you only have 2 options to sort the problem. Option one is to have the standard trigger checked out by a qualified gunsmith (if you're not confident yourself) or option 2 is to have the whole unit changed, like you probably will anyway. Good luck with the gun and let us know how you get on with this problem, John
  22. Hi Leamo I bought the exact same gun 5 years ago and i can't say that i have ever had any problems with the cz's standard trigger. I did however just out of curiousity adjust the trigger spring to it's lightest setting, but to be honest i didn't really notice much difference with the result. As for creep, yes i suppose there is a small amout, but not nearly enough for me to fit a replacement trigger. Maybe if i was in a club and used the rifle for target shooting i would give a new trigger unit a try, but out in the rough and tumble of the field i like to know that any accidental rounds
