  1. Hi As the post title asks , are there plastic decoys that will fit on an electric pigeon flapper. I know that freshly shot birds are the best to use but the problem is that , at this present time i havn't got a chest freezer to store recently shot birds in that i could use on the next outing , so if i could use a plastic decoy just to start with , i could replace later on with a freshly shot bird , All the best , John http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h263/motormadmarc/today005-2.jpg
  2. Hi all As i'm new to pigeon shooting I'm slowly trying to collect all the , so called essentials that people use. I've just purchased a pigeon flapper and a smallish 12v battery that came with the flapper & also a 6 / 12v trickle charger . As i've never owned one of these flappers before , i was just wondering how long it takes to charge up this battery to it's maximum , as it didn't really come with any specific instructions. The charger only seems to have a red illumination light that seems to stay on all the time. Also , on a full charge approx how many hours will i g

I've recently ordered a few bits from this company and although its only been a couple of days since ordering , i still havn't received the goods , i was just wondering if any of you guys have any experience of them , either good or bad The company is called ( Decoying Direct ) http://www.decoyingdirect.co.uk/Default.asp , but after reading about another Similar named company who have been slagged off on numerous occasions , and seem to be proper con artists , http://www.decoying.co.uk/ , i thought i'd better check that they are 2 completely separate companys , All the be

  6. My first shotgun was a Second hand 'Lanber Sporting Deluxe' 12g. I had the gun about 5 years and i had no trouble at all. I got the idea to buy a Lanber from my friend at work who bought his new about 15 years ago. he has also had no problems , All the best , John
  7. I was just wondering if there are any UK suppliers that sell spares for the CZ 452 rifle , things such as screws , trigger guards etc. I've tried Chambers Gunmakers , but they only supply the bullet Magazines , John

  11. Hi all A few months ago i bought a brand new Winchester SX3 Composite 12g and i was just wondering what the procedure would be if i wanted to increase the shot capacity to 5 shot from the uk's standard 3. Is it just a case of taking the gun to a Gunsmith and having the plug removed , & adding the gun to my FAC. Also , how expensive is this procedure likely to be , john
  12. 1888andybhoy Spend as much as you can and buy somethiong decent like i did , a Winchester SX3 31/2'' Composite. I've owned mine now for 6 months and has never let me down once. A quality semi Auto and Cheaper than a Bennelli as well , John
  13. Thanks for trying Phantom Not to worry though. As i've already stated i can still use the adjuster with a screwdriver , so once zeroed i shouldn't need to worry about it again , All the best , John
  14. I havn't got one of those precision measuring devices but these are pretty close from a standard ruler , The recess in the adjuster guide where the missing screw in part sits in is 12mm in circumference The Adjuster itself is 23mm in circumference The screw hole through the adjuster guide & missing part is 4mm John
  15. Thanks for the reply phantom Here are a couple of close ups,
  16. Hi all I have recently found an old BSA scope 4 - 32 that i have not seen for at least 20 years or so. It used to sit on an old HW77 that i sold many years ago. Anyway , the top turret that controls the up / down adjustment is missing the chrome dial , which screws into the top to make the adjustments. If you study the top picture you can just make out a slight recess where the chrome click adjuster should sit and screw into. The Black plastic dial pictured next to the scope is the adjustment guide which i cannot use without the chrome piece that is missing. If need be ,
  17. Thanks for the replys lads , i've got some thinking to do now , John
  18. Hi all I have recently purchaced a mid 1970's .22 Weihrauch HW35. Overall the rifle isn't in bad condition apart from the low power & a stock that is a bit scratched. Yesterday i fired off about a dozen pellets through the chrony ( Crossman premiers )and the rifle only produced 1.71ft 11bs. 232 fps average. I was just wondering if there are any Airgun guru's around the Hertfordshire area who could bring the rifle up to date and get her shooting at her best again , (HERTFORD/WARE) borders , otherwise it means sending the rifle off & chancing the postal system. The name
  19. When i do a zero check on my .22 , as already mentioned , i always place the target on a upwards sloping bank. Also , if you want a target that will stop the bullet in it's tracks , then buy one of these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/LONG-RANGE-STEEL-DISC-TARGET-6MM-THICK-RIMFIRE_W0QQitemZ200528061766QQihZ010QQcategoryZ73978QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I bought one of these a while back and find it great to stop those .22's in their tracks , John
  20. Hi all I've recently purchased a brand new Winchester SX3 Composite and i am thinking of removing the plug in the magazine tube so that the gun will become 4 + 1. I am also FAC registered for a .22lr. The shotgun is only used for pest control on a local estate , and i am also a member of a pigeon / avian shooting syndicate. Do you guys think that i will be able to get a variation for my shotgun for the kind of shooting that i do , Many thanks , John
  21. A few weeks ago i was looking to buy my first semi auto and i was interested in a Webley & Scott. That was until a bloke at work told me that he had nothing but problems with his one So i ended up buying a brand new Winchester SX3 Composite chambered for 3 1/2'' The gun has performed faultlessly and came with a 5 year warranty. Oh , and buy the way , the bloke at work got his money back on the webley and bought a brand new HATSAN ESCORT & no problems to date , John
  22. Hi all I took my new SX3 12g out today down to my local pigeon shooting syndicate but there was absolutely nothing around. I spent the first hour or so with the binoculars , trying to spot the woodies feeding , but everything was absolutely dead. Anyway , i decided to set up under a nearby tree that was in the shade and see what , if anything would appear. After setting up a few decoys ( pigeons and crows ) a floater and a couple of flappers i made myself comfortable and waited. Nothing happened for the first hour but then , out of nowhere a feral landed near one of the f
