  1. Ive had similar problems loads of times dogrun.Theirs a few things you can do. SNARES!You can snare amongst badgers as long as you keep your snares high (11" to bottom of the loop) and dont snare on fences.(By law you are allowed a 4% accidentel catch ratio so on the off chance you catch a badger just release it!) RIFLE!Try squeeking at first light(deadly for lamp shy foxes)and late evenings.I would be very suprised if you dont bag a few foxes at that time! FOX DRIVES!Is there no where that you can organise some fox drives.Take your wind direction into consideration when fox driving(and do
  2. I like a dog to weigh exactly 75gr.It must have a red tip to its nose and must be rediculously fast. It must be cabable of taking a fox and a deer straight after each other and be able to be slipped on fox and deer up to 350yds.It has to kill all its victims stone dead and before they even move..It must open up as soon as i slip it and get to its victim in a direct straight line. Now thats a good dog J.D
  3. Tough at the top Brummy but someone has to be there
  4. I took peterthebeater out again(f*****g pest) stalking last night., Then we went fox lamping.I missed the first fox at 100yds,dont ask me how ? Then shot the next fox at 200 plusyds in the head, then Peterthebeater shot half a dozen hares for ferret food We then called it a night,(GREAT)
  5. Its not a snair Dave, its a SNARE! Speak to any farmer or countryman and you will LEARN that rabbits, hares, roe fawns etc regularly get chopped to f**k by farm machinery. They will clap and get cut up,most country lads have stood on hares when out raking so they dont always use their flight option. P.S,a hare CANNOT take a leg off with a snare (legs have bones, tendens and ligaments in them)so what chance has it got taking two legs off!
  6. I might as well talk to a f*****g brick wall.
  7. Well done Foxey, but cant you leave the poor things alone until winter
  8. Dave, stop refering to snares when it comes to that hare.If you look closely you can see that the hares bones have been smashed with force.Ive snared 100s of hares and caught many by the leg and the skin is barely marked. Now that hare has had a injury caused by a cutting machine so leave snares out of it!
  9. First fox was a.223 and the second fox was a .222.Both brill calibres.Ive got a T8 but havent had my rifles threaded yet.My old .222 was silenced with a Hushpower, very quiet but too long!
  10. That hushpower was miss firing when i first got it but after a strip down, clean and oil its fine, and f*****g quiet. Thanks mate
  11. Those injuries are f**k all to do with snares Dave.A combine or Silage cutter is what had done that.Poor b*****d!!
  12. Had a rake out late this aftrnoon with Peterthebeater on some stalking of mine.Saw loads of signs of Roe but didnt see any.Pete spotted a dog fox (dont know how the f**k he saw it) stood on a tram line in some standing corn at about 130yds.I took him through the head,he was recovering from Mange! We carried on and had an hours lamping on some other permision.Spotted a spookey fox which we followed for two or three fields and eventually got a shot at it.I took that vixen through the head as well and paced it out at 217yds.The .222 is a very accurate round!!!!!!!
  13. First time i applied (18years old),no chance because i was a danger to the public! Second time i applied (23years old),no chance because i was a danger to the public.I held a doormans job for 18years and they definately held it against me! Got married, settled down, dozens of references and i got my first shot gun certificate. Fight for what is rightfully yours lads
  14. Are they those Chinese water deer Smudge? Top notch pics, your wasted in keepering
  15. Now i know where the saying (a piggy back) comes from
  16. Ive forgot to chamber a round more than ounce myself. On fox and deer.Usually dont get a second chance though
  17. The cubs around these parts are starting to respond to the call.I was out for an hour tonight with "Peter The Beater" and bagged this fox cub in the first field we lamped!!
  18. Should have broke his jaw Its happened to me stacks of times, its my pet hate. The snares and gear ive lost over the years is shocking.Theiving arrogant wankers!!
  19. I was using soft points baldie your right.I was reloading but close to the minimum load.I should maybe have loaded abit higher but lost faith in the little gun. You are probably bang on with your explaination but i went onto a .222 and never looked back You know your stuff
  20. Yeh,thanks for the help P.T.Beater and IanB.
  21. I found that the .22 hornet didnt drop foxes and many ran on for 50-100yds.The bullet placement was spot on everytrime.OK up to 100 but just couldnt get away with it.The hornet seemed to kill deer easier than foxes.Thats what i found anyway! Shooting deer in the head is not really done over hear(except by poachers, tut tut) so a larger calibre is normaly used
  22. What you guna do if you catch him/them Bullcat??
  23. Do you eat Boar and Roo yourself Cathgart
