  1. Well done burnie,(it was skill). Thanks Foxey,i will get their eventually!!!!
  2. Me and a mate sat 150yds off a 15acre wood hoping for a fox tonight. The field still had the cut grass in it. We spotted a doe feeding in the rape field to our right. Then after a fifteen minute call a vixen come in to 125yds,the .222 done the rest!!
  3. Yes C.S.22.250,a great .22 centre fire rifle.Wouldnt mind betting his rifle is a Remington 700 model??
  4. 7"1/2 X5"1/2 loop set 5"1/2 over the middle of the smallest beat you can find.Make sure your eye is cocked and you have a light tention in your snare and your lad will catch his fair share of rabbits with very few knocks.Good luck Shaun v!!!!!
  5. Good bag of foxes Cupid. What rifle did your mate use???
  6. You werent stepping on my toes Shaun v.We are both just trying to give good advice. It just happens that snaring is my speciality Shaun v.
  7. You comming for a stalk tonight Foxey?
  8. Shaun, you said four fingers high.Ive got big hands and four fingers measures less than four inches. That is a load of bull shit off some one who doesnt have a clue what they are talking about. You also mensioned settins on or around seats, total rubbish. They arent designed to set around holes(you only get knocked snares) but are set on the runs leading from there holes! This kind of wrong advise to people who want to learn is wrong because people will go out and try what you have told them and get totaly disheartened.
  9. (You no where near Shaun v).You use hoop snares exactly the same as pegged snares. You can use them in the rough or on open runs. You set them a minimum of 51/2" off the ground in the middle of the beat.Use 36-40" of 3mm galvey wire bent in a U shape. Not a tight U but an open U.Push each leg of the hoop a couple of inches each side of the rabbit beat.Set your snare from the side of the hoop and the bottom of the snare 51/2" off the ground in short grass. A 4 strand snare works very well in hoops because the hoop acts as a spring, the rabbit is usually killed very quickly like this!
