  1. WOW!Thats looks like my kind of sport
  2. My pal had a 17rem for three years.Ive been out with it loads of times. He eventually got rid and bought a .222.I cannot see why anyone would use a 17rem when you can use a 222/223/204/22.250 etc. Its abit like the .22magnum which is too hard for rabbits and not hard enough for fox..22 hornet is the same,17rem the same, too wee and puney for big stuff, too hard for little stuff! Thats my opinion!!
  3. If its not a peg pull then someones taken your catch!!
  4. You have to be very carefull with pegs in this weather. With the ground being so hard pegs won't hold like they will in the wetter months.Ide put money on it that your peg has pulled out.Have a good look round the area incase your fox has caught up in some thicked or fence etc
  5. Sounds a real good calibre baldie.Let us know how you get on when you start with the foxes
  6. Mension Rings on hear and it all geos Tits up :11:
  7. Ive been using a 222 for years and as Deerstalker said, for Small deer and foxes they are deadly accurate and more than enough ft lbs to kill cleanly.Fit a sound mod and you have an ideal rifle for using near dwelling houses or among livestock. Mine is a Tikka T3 Fitted with a 3-12x42 Me-Opta Scope,. Never used a 220 Swift but i bet its some rifle!!
  8. The .222 is a very handy calibre.Ive had a 22.250 and for the amount of recoil and noise i would choose the .243 over the 22.250 every time. The 223 is a very good calibre, theres not alot of recoil and its not rediculously noisey like the 22.250.The 223 is good for 250yds easy with plenty of punch. Saying all that i still think that the .243 takes some beating as an all round calibre!!
  9. Dock leaves where ounce used as an aphrodisiac J.D.Nettles where also used for arthritus. He must have a horney arse hole and arthritic cock.I noticed as soon as we heard that buck barking Foxey shot into the bushes to do something? :11: :11: :11:
  10. Do you see many Roe rings up there Deerhunter? They arent very common around hear although you do see them every year.Ive watched bucks chasing Doe's Around rings for two or three minutes at a time before the Doe has broken off and gone else where.Brilliant to watch
