  1. Tbh i think that statement is entirely wrong mate...a dog is born with good constitution whether he,s fast or slow ...look at some of the fen dogs..like shit off a shovel but very hardy and robust...thats because they have been bred that way for donkey,s years with the bad traits bred out. you can rear a pup as well as you like but if he constitutionally unsound then there,s nothing you can do to put it there...sure you can help him along a little with fitness..good diet and such but nothing and i mean nothing is going to alter the way he was born ...jmo..atb stabba Dont really know much a

  10. Not really a wind upJust thinking aloud, plenty of whippet cross terriers about,If i was looking for a pup and knew were there was a litter i would at least go and see em.They could be some strange f**kers alright.BUT at least you would be adding to the greyhounds desire to hunt, instead of diluting it for good feet or pretty silver coat. Shall i call them patterhounds or greydales
  11. After reading a couple of threads on here lately about deerhoundx grey and whippetxbedlingtons,I got to thinking were would the beddie and deerhound blood be coming from,I wouldnt fancy trying to find a genuine working dog of either. And would be very cautious of buying either cross for that reason.so were do you go then? While thinking about this one of the only dogs i could really think of that are really tested and worked on things that would be relavent to a lurcher, was a patterdale.Yet i Have never seen or heard of a pattxgreyhound.Have you.Why not? So come on show me your pattx greys

The funny thing is the lads that KNOW Darcy and make sure that every one on here know it by dropping his name in every chance they get.Hes just a lad who makes a buck writing a few books,The best bits arnt even written by him.Good luck to him good luck to you but dont think his dogs or yours are any better than the next just could he wrote afew books.
  14. Because the top strand is meant to be set at what is considered stock height ( four foot) and if you dont put two strands between that and the top of the netting then it will not serve purpose, in as much as that cows will put their heads between the bottom strand and the netting to either rub or eat from the hedge / boundry. so how come when they put an electric fence up for cattle its only one strand as you say at stock height ??? id guess that the dunt form the shock would make them avoid the fence, and not just push through it They say cows can smell when a fence is on.
