    I agrea about getting a good vet,but if you went to a vet every time your dog got a cut or needed a antibiotic,you would be skint.Penicillin is a fairly safe bet mate.I have worked with all kinds of animals and ive seen most get shots of it for all kinds of injurys.Dont believe all a vet tells you either.

    I thought cork had dog men in every second house(nearly)strange that they cannot get together, who ever it is would stop if they thought it was going to bring trouble back to there own familys door steps.They operate on fear.

    Don't think anyone is saying it AIN'T important.it's just not the be all and end all in a lurcher's makeup..yes it does have to be quick enough to catch it's quarry but that's about as much use as it needs to be imo? All the things that Moo mentioned are imo of more significance than just blinding speed? ATB Andy. Spot on Andy, it was originally stated in the thread that speed was "the" most important thing in a lurcher, its thats so why dont we all own greyhounds? Its because you do need speed, of course you do but its not the most improtant attribute, there are lots of fast dogs

    How can speed not be important?The clue is in the name running dog,Afast dog doesn't mean its charging around the place,crashing into stuff.But it means it can make a mistake and still have time to get back on tracks.

    Bleach kills nearly everything,and is cheap,It wont hurt your ferrets just put it in good and strong and leave for a while before rinsing well.Your on your own for the rest,except wound powder.

    Dont mention dogs or guns,Just ask for ferreting.Wait untill you have been a couple of times before you mention dogs.
