Very true and strange this Wilf. My mum kind of turned away from Church after our kid died at 14. Me I always feckin hated it but if anything in all seriousness I lean more towards Buddhism just for the peace and meditation side of things, I got into this through Thai boxing before our kid died and found myself questioning it when he did which was strange as I have no belief of an afterlife or any Harry Potter in the sky shite full stop. I think people in times of crisis either reach out for something even if it's not there or close down If there is an afterlife I'm gonna tw@t Peter and b

Hail Woden Yeah cause paganism is much easier to accept with witches and wise men with special healing powers dancing round a set of stones bollock naked worshiping mother nature and other green men. "hail Hogwarts" I dont think you understand much about the paganism our ancestors followed. . Perhaps not but that's probably to do with every pagen I have ever met seems to be an expert in why my religious beliefs are riduculas but fail to tell me EXACTLY what the Pagen belief is. When i ask "so tell me what you believe?" in It all gets met with a big smoke screen of god or gods, patriarc

My understanding of it is this..... It was a black hole, black star that self imploded as they tend to do from time to time. That is why the universe is expanding, we are all moving away from the centre of the explosion. It happened that long ago they said the light from it wouldn't be seen but it would have turned into radiation waves. They spent fortunes on equipment to pick up these waves, all trying to be the first with proof. They were all beaten by a couple of armature scientists with homemade equipment in America What caused the big bang to occur? What happened a millionth of a secon

Exactly Wilf, I hardly go to church I don't remember seeing anywhere in the bible that you must visit church every Sunday to be a Christian. I go when I want to for reasons only I know. I too am a fool

are love and hate nothing more than chemical reactions to allow us to procreate and find our place in the pack though Yes mate but isn't our very existence a combination of chemical reactions, how we interpret them is down to what we believe. Anyway must dash, off to see Sheffield Wednesday in a thrilling match with Macclesfield, who'd of thought it a Christian and a Wednesday fan surely for me there's no coming back from that....... ATB

Dreb87 believe me it is not my intention to try convince anyone of anything however this is a question always thrown at me "faith in something I cannot see or be able to understand till death ain't for me" I thought about this myself and decided that I know of other things that exist such as love and hate, I can't see or prove they exist but I know that they do. That's the same for me and faith if that makes sense?

Interesting to see such a wide of views, I do find it amusing though that only Christians are labelled as the kooks, pagens atheists, agnostics even people who believe in aliens are almost accepted but fcuk me mention the big G word and your a jam jar spectacled wearing lunatic with no life. Agnostics I kind of get, you want to be convinced and won't commit either way it's the aethiests that get me. The aethiests categorically will not accept any suggestion of creation that there could be a more sentient being who could be responsible for life as we know it. How arrogant to think that we

Teen Lays Down His Life To Stop Suicide Bomber
The Seeker replied to Mickey Finn's topic in General Talk
Whatever the reason for his actions he saved a school and he gave the ultimate price so from me RIP young un. -
It's a pity in today's UK society that to have a Christian faith is almost a recipe to make you some kind of social pariah. I read many peoples opinions on here that to belive in a god that you must be somehow a bit of a werido or maybe even a bit of a fool yet how many people praise the likes of Winston Churchill, was he a bit of a fool? or any less of a person? He had religious beliefs as do many famous and historically influential people. I say don't be too quick to judge a person by their beliefs, not everyone thinks god is sat on a cloud with a white beard. Just maybe if more peo

good for you i like fans who come to the front when their side gets battered !!.....Great club Leeds id like to see them back in the top flight another one of the old enemy i put it on my profile when i joined but not had much to shout about in recent years lol lol apart from knocking the scum out of the cup Say one thing for you guys you were still singing even though you were getting hammered good on ya. Been to the last couple of games at Elland Road and the last game (a draw) the place was really quiet, one of the lads at work is a Leeds fan I get the feeling there's not a good fe

What i meant was you said for years you have read on here about Man Utd,LIverpool,Chelsea,West Ham.........nothing stopping you shouting your teams name any other time its only footie talk That's just it mate we hardly have anything to shout about, Sad really Sheffield has two huge clubs and both have under performed for far too long, even in league one we were pulling in 20,000 on average, but it's 13 years since we were in the premiership.

Well at the end of the day he's not our player he's on loan so if he goes and I think it's inevitable I just hope he stays till end of the month, he will will be missed and greatly appreciated by the supporters for his twice loan signing with us. He reminds me a little of David Hirst a bit stocky but quick with it and a very hard strike.

Mods, is it not possible to send out a global pm to every member on here with a link that stig has put up to get a vote in? It would be great to hit them with a couple of thousand votes especially in their own back yard. Wilf know what you mean nothing ever seems to come of these but it's always satisfying to wind up these tree huggers

Teen Lays Down His Life To Stop Suicide Bomber
The Seeker replied to Mickey Finn's topic in General Talk
What I really don't get is why a suicide bomber would target a school full of other Muslims. It's just all seems fcuekd up to me? What a crazy religion. -
For years ive read on here about Man Utd, Liverpool, Chealsea, West Ham etc etc, even foreign lower league clubs like Celtic and Rangers Well today Sheffield Wednesday 6 Leeds 0 HAVE IT !!!!!!!!
