  1. :thumbs:LOL. ....... what you wanting to run (MICE) and as for oldest breed known im sure thats the suluki mate MICE????......try sweetie mice! They are a toy breed arn't they? Too many health problems in store too.
  2. What age are all these dogs? Are they all kenneled in together?
  3. Yes, why the harness? It could be a recipe for disaster if it snags on something. What are you training it to do at the moment?
  4. That's sad, but still they breed them and breed them and breed them.......pathetic really . It pisses me off to read the adverts on here sometimes.......all promising to be the next great must-have workers.
  5. Get him in a crate. Put a blanket over it to make it cosy. Feed him in it - every meal. Put him in it while you are in the house and spend some time in another room. Buy a kong and stuff it with stuff - I find bread stuffed into it lasts a good while. Only give him the kong and his food in the crate - nowhere else and he will soon associate it with nice things. It will become his cosy den and he will want to spend time in it relaxing and eventually sleeping. Good luck - keep building on it.
  6. Do you have any other dogs to keep him company? Where does he sleep? Does he spend time in a crate? My pup of 5 months used to whinge and howl at night in his crate - after a while he had to be told quite firmly to be quiet - a good noisy chase round the crate with a rolled up newspaper a couple of times did the trick. Get the dog used to spending time away from you while you are in the house....like in another room or in a crate to build up his confidence and practice a command telling him to be quiet. I asked my neighbours to let me know if he was barking and annoying them during the day

Dirty Harry..............Clint Eastwood....cool as cool can be in all his films.
  8. Would you sooner tackle that than Vicki Pollard?
  9. Or maybe it's a Norn Iron thing? My Granda used to have a wee bet on the grews when the gee gees were not bringing him much luck! To others on here grew seems to mean greyhoundxwhippet?
  10. This type of situation is easily avoided by keeing your dog on a lead in public. Dont be a school teacher little fish, the lads looking for advice after the fact, not advice on how he could of avoided the situation, which Im sure he will know by now. I'm not being a school teacher, just offering advice as requested by the original poster. My dogs have been attacked by loose dogs and in my opinion it is unacceptable but easily avoided.
  11. Do you have any dogs at home already?

  13. I thought it was because greyhound and whippet types often have muscular necks and pointy narrow heads, making it less likely for the shaped collar to accidentally slip off over the dogs head?
  14. Everyone who doesn't work their dogs is NOT absolutely clueless. Many do have understanding/knowledge/respect for animals and can train them very well. Many don't feed their dogs shit and treat them like kids. And not all of them complain about hunting. But you have just made the same sort of sweeping general statement that some pet homes make about working ones. Seems that sort of person exists on both sides of the proverbial hedge Totally agree, there are clueless aresholes on both sides. Indeed - what about some of the questions/statements about dog care and tr
  15. I hope the horse has as much spring in it!
  16. Best poet of modern times is Kristofferson. I also like his song 'The Rainbow', simple and heartwarming.
  17. Good luck with your show. As you say, these things just don't happen overnight but need a lot of work to organise, often by a small number of enthusiasts. Hope you weather stays fair
  18. My advice would be to avoid situations like this by keeping your dog on a lead in public parks, or avoding them altogether.
  19. I heard The Green Fields of France sang at a concert on Saturday. Brought a tear to my eye this evening when watching the news showing the soldiers from World War I being reburied........."How do you do, young Willie McBride?"
  20. I hope these are not the next dog of choice for the chavs
  21. That mare looks in fantastic condition for her age. Nice photos.
  22. Have the parents worked? When you say they will be free of hereditary diseases - what have the parents been tested for? I think you'll struggle to sell them on here at £500.
  23. Why do they have to squat like that? Do even the young ones born in the UK still stand on a toilet to crap instead of sitting on the pot like someone normal?
  24. The stems and leaves on some just did not do well despite a promising start. They were well watered as a have a fish pond in the garden and watered them every night with well matured water from it, and sometimes in the day as well. Maybe I watered them too much? I was growing Maris Piper and Vale Emeralds. Some of the poatoes were small, obviuosly still growing, but I pulled them up anyway as I couldn't look at the pathetic stems anymore. I'm really annoyed that they were blighted - i beleive the germ lives in the soil? Very disappointed as great crops in the past few years. Maybe i'
  25. I found a nice plump racing pigeon in my garden today (dead). I phoned the number on its ring to tell the owner of its demise. I described its injuries and the guy said it was likely hit by a hawk. I don't keep pigeons but it seemed a shame.........even so, I still like to see the sparrowhawks in action.
