Well done mate. They're the ones who matter. Like Scot said, once the wee lass is a bit older you can get out again. ATVB Ric
  2. I think Malt just went for a leek . . . Ric
  3. Over confident under educated knobheads, yes. Whether they are American or whatever is not to the point. I have seen Tarquin Toss-Pot Smythe and Fenella f**k-Me Ya behaving just as stupidly. Ric
  4. How about a piss*d off dogman having a go at a shooter on THL? Or indeed a p'd off shooter having a go at a dogman? I omly ask out of curiousity . . . Ric
  5. Damn right it is and a bloody sight worse than lead. I just get intrigued by all the excuses they come up with! Ric
  6. 1.) Light 2.) Spider in the cockpit of an F.111 3.) Cinema audience trying to get out before the National Anthem. (OK most of yez won't remember that one.) And there's more! Ric
  7. I read in the Independent today that the British Army have commissioned BAE to supply a million rounds of new ammo for trial in the 5.56. These rounds will be lead free. Solid steel core, copper jacketed, designed to tumble on impact. The Army have said that there are real worries about heavy metal pollution. The new rounds will be longer to maintain the weight, will thus have a higher BC and be more accurate, and maintain lethality, at longer range. If these rounds work as hoped, a similar round will be developed for the 7.62 x 51. I think there is someone in the MOD reading my posts on h
  8. Have a good day, ya hear me now. Ric
  9. Get the non-setting version. Works a treat on my specs! Ric
  10. Let's hope they blow themselves away. THINK OF IT AS EVOLUTION IN ACTION
  11. Bah humbug! That is a brilliant 21stC take on a Wild West theme. I want the Harley hard tail, I want the .44 Magnum. An 1873 Winchester lever action .44-40 in the saddle boot would make it perfect. Sundance.
  12. Stark staring raving mad. Gobshites like this are the last thing responsible shooters need right now. Ric
  13. I got home one night and one of my dear neighbours was playing Andy Stuart VERY LOUD. I stood it for about 5 minutes then went ballistic. I took my hi-fi apart, carried the speakers - Goodmans, 200 watts each - up on to the garage roof, pointed them at her garden, hooked up the deck, turned up the gain to +12db, and gently lowered the stylus on Kashmir. Zep at 120db! She ran indoors and we didn't see her for a fortnight. My neighbour t'other side laughed so much he fell over. Yup, I rate Zep. Ric
  14. Thanks pipple. 8-32 it is. I don't like cluttered reticles for long range, I'd sooner range and dial in, but that can wait til it starts to happen for real. I fancy the Kahles or S&B. Ric
  15. Take a butchers at the SYSS site, aka Rimfire Magic. Ric
  16. I admire the guy for not giving up his second favourite sport (after bikes!) Now, I know a lad who left his right leg on the A46. He now runs a VeeDub trike, Porsche lump, automatic gearbox. Mad as a snake and bloody quick! ATB Ric

  18. Hi Ric i use a 8x32x50 Zos shootingcharley Thanks for that. As you may know, I am planning to build a long range .204 special. 8-32 looks favourite but it's always good to get as many opinions as poss! Ric
  19. Point taken about the time to set up, but the portable tripod that I used for field photograpy only weighed a kilo or so. It came with a carrier like a baby golf club bag, with a shoulder strap. Anyway, I hope yout oppo gets sorted one way or another. Old bikers never die, they just smell that way. Ric (CBR 600)
  20. What mag 'scope does the .204 wear? Ric
  21. I can understand where you come from here mate but i struggle everytime i hear it on here...........if you shoot a vixen 1 night how on earth do you find its den? How is it possible(as foxes will travel miles in a night) that you can get to the den and whats to say that it is even on your permission. Obviously its easy if the vixen is sitting at the den but otherwise its near immposible to police. Terrier? Ric
  22. As I see it, if you shoot a vixen in milk you have a moral responsibility to find the earth and humanely dispatch the cubs, in the same way that you would track down a wounded animal. Ric
  23. It would be worth his while to talk to his RFD about adapting a camera tripod. It should be possible to adapt the camera mount to fit the bipod thread on the fore-end. Ric
  24. I haven't had time to think this one through yet but what I have noticed is that Bird held a SGC and FAC for 20 years. Once he got them first time, he probably got them renewed "On the nod". There may well be a case to be made that every renewal of a licence should be vetted; not just passed because there has been no problem, but checked by a FEO. RicW
