I think he was trying to be funny with his shooting hounds comment. Indeed I did say I'm not totally disallowing him....but I would have to meet him first and he would be asked to explain his comments

A big landowner, their son has inherited the responsibility of running things. We have taken it between the three of us and it's worked fine this season. They are in effect my best mates....but obviously they are shooters and have a few quid about them and do mix in slightly different circles. But I found the shoot, I negotiated with the landlords. On top of that I get on with the landlords son as he farms the place and he's definitely more on my level. It's me who organises most things and ties it all together. We don't have a signed lease though and I've agreed so far on a really good g

Mate has lost a load of hens to one in Scotland, all his little valley (glen?) has been visited loosing ducks and hens. Anyway he set a cage trap on the inside of his hen house through the pop hole which it entered through. He set a camera watching it. He wasn't aiming for pine Martin's, he presumed it was a mink or fox cub. Anyway at the end of the week he checked the camera and it had visited 4 times, each time looking through the pop hole....it wouldn't go in though. Clever sod

Could do with having a chat with you about some trees. Going to be planting and improving a little area of woodland each year. Would want some rowan trees but also looking at things to create quick cover, snowberry?

Thanks for all the comments. My problem is I brought them in on an equal share basis and this season we shared work and finance equally. It's difficult to now start playing the 'its my shoot' card. But I am going to have to straighten them up a bit. They are two brothers and automatically agree and back each other up. If I carry on like this I will end up dancing to their tune. Time to set some boundaries I think

Dear Deirdre/thl Recently got into a discussion/argument with two mates of mine who insist I can be an arsehole. I'd value your opinion.
