Here is a current aution of a Barryvox over there...Might be able save quite a bit verses a new one... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAMMUT-PULSE-BARRYVOX-AVALANCHE-BEACON-TRANSCEIVER-ORTOVOX-240-PROBE-/270837548036?pt=UK_SportingGoods_Skiing_Accessories&hash=item3f0f2d0404

Case XX Nice fit and finish , many models to choose from and quite a few options on the scales also...I think I am going to pick up a TrapperLock just have to decide on the scales...The black G-10 scales would be practical and a better value at $65.00...But the Antique Rattlesnake Trapperlock really catches my eye... http://www.ebay.com/...984.m1423.l2649 http://www.ebay.com/...=item19c9b4b3be Here is a video of the knives being made... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_mLv9D_UU8

Ive got the quick release collars and the long link couple from Strong Stuff...Never had a terrier come off lead unless I let em off...Quality gear, and Aaron is a good guy to deal with...

Yep Steve, I think that would make my heart skip a beat to.. buster dog, 12 holy cow that would get real expensive real fast... Well took me about 2 1/2 hours but I got it, dug down between 7 and 8 feet...The collar was pretty chewed up and the coon had completely unfastened it , it did not slip over his head , I found that to be suprising...I just wish I would have found him at the beging of my three hour search, that way I could have dug to him while he was engaged with the coon...It sure messed his face up...

Thanks, I've got to go dig up one tomorrow that came off my dog ...

Anyone know how long the rechargeable collar transmitts if it was fully charged when turned on ?

Very nice looking pups you have there...Good luck with them ! -
Test ?? No, once my dog got ahold of it was over real quick...I give hime credit for catching it under ground in a series of conected beaver dens...I would think something like that would be pretty agile and fairly difficult to get pinned down...That is the first one we have came across and I dont know much about them other than they smell bad and like to kill chickens...

The boy and I were out with his pup and my dog recently, the dog checked a couple of setts and then found one he liked the smell of entered worked for abit to get it pinned down...The dog is not much for baying unless he cant reach it so when he started baying I started to dig...When I broke through (very shallow) and had a small hole about the size of a apple somthing brown with beady eyes poked its face out the hole...I blocked the get away with the shovel and the dog was able to get ahold of it and finish it...The hardest part about the whole outing was getting it out after the dog killed

Sub section my a$$... 12 lb terrier vs 26 lb racoon...she was actually on two coons that day , first one bolted didnt get a weight on that one but it was more than double her size also... -

Here is a link to reduce the size of your pictures before you upload them to your photo bucket account... http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ I normally reduce mine to the 760 pixel size and use the "best" image quality setting...You should end up with a picture this size.. After you have uploaded your picture to your your photo bucket account move your cursor onto your image to veiw the codes needed to transfer the picture to your THL thread...Click on the image code ( that will copy it ) next go to your thread and insert your picture anywhere into the body of your thread, by

Gotta love them roots...Good work and nice looking bitch...

I no nothing of bushing or ferreting... Does bushing involve having a dog work heavy cover to flush out quarry to a gun... What role does the terrier play in feretting ? ( catching bolters ? )
-
I'll answer your question with a question...Why else get a terrier but to dig to it ? As for tips, I suggest hunting with some people who have been at it awhile...Best to learn from others mistakes...

My boy and I took the terriers to the creek today for a little exercise and cooling off...My 2yr old dog located a ground hog under a old push pile ended being easy shallow dig...I know you guys dont see them to often so here you go...
-
Havent got bit yet...I'm sure its coming though ha ha...Bruno is pretty good about keeping ahold of them when I try and pull them out... Yeah its definately wise not to rush things with the pups I screwed up with Bruno and let him enter a doser pile when he was 6 mo old...He battled a coon for quite awhile before I got to him via chainsaw and pulled him out...I got lucky... I'm located in central IL and around here the best places Ive found for taking coon is along the creek lines everything else is planted in corn or beans...

As said by others there are some pictures of very nice looking workers in this thread...But then again as long as its working it looks nice to me... My 2 year old dog Bruno...

help and thoughts on fencing please.
go2ground replied to sallie's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
My yard has both wooden privacy and chain link and my terriers will not try and climb or dig there way out due to the electric fence that I put about 5" above ground...It only takes getting shocked a couple times and they learn to keep their distance... In this photo you can see the charger (far left) and the wire starts on the other side of the walk...Works like a charm... -
