I have never used a pieps transceiver but I know they sell one on the B&F site, and since I have a B&F collar and it works with both my barryvox and ortovox transceivers, I am going to assume that the pieps freeride would work with both the ortovox and B&F collars... ATB...g2g

Nice work and end result brog, pictures arent too shabby either...

Yep, barryvox makes the box ( reciever/transmitter ) and ortovox makes the the transmitter for the collar... I use the duracell brand and for that brand it is the N size battery...

"Is there much risk of parasites or disease being passed from the coon to the dogs?" Yes there is, but the carcasses I fed my dogs had been boiled first and I think the main concern is from the intestines and feces... Information in the link below about the main threat from parisites concerning coons...It would be a good idea for you guys to read the article about racoon roundworms since there are some of them over there... http://ohioline.osu....ct/pdf/0020.pdf I'm pretty sure I've seen some of their pictures of their barn hunts, huge numbers... The one that sticks

The boy and I got out with a friend who has access to some really nice land with alot of large doser piles...We couldnt have asked for better day, it was sunny and had snowed the night before covering the ground with about 2" of the white stuff, temp was around 32-33 f ...When we are hunting these large piles we generaly have two terriers and one draw dog on the ground, yesterday we opted to have both draw dogs on the ground and two terriers, reason being one of the draw dogs is a pup on his first season... The first pile we hit produced one nice sized coon...Couldnt have been much easier,

Sorry for your friend...

At eight weeks old if he is tempered anything like the ones I keep he is going to to be a little demon...Meaning he probably wont be to paticular on what he latches onto, other dogs, your hands ect....Some dogs are more tolerant of puppys than others and when they have had enough they usualy give the pup a correction , sometimes the older dog will go overboard so you cant leave the pup unattended while playing with the older dog...Also if he does give you problems gnawing on your hands all the time you can shove your finger into his throat far enough to gag him and after he has experienced tha

Nice type and looks to be a handy size, good luck with him...

Nice work I would be proud also... I have personaly never seen the damage caused by starting one to early (not doubting it can happen)... The dog in my avatar tried his best to end a jumbo coon at the early age of 6 mo. ...I let him enter a large doser pile with a 2 and a half year old dog that was having problems loacting the coon...Well to make along story short the older dog jacked and left the pup to it...The pup stayed in and on until I sawed my way to him and drug him out...He took some stick but it did no harm, I held him back until the followng year and two years later he

Not my style of terrier, though I will admitt there have been times when my dogs have been on the mend I have wondered what it would be like to have one with a little softer style...

Border/Lakeland pup too aggresive.
go2ground replied to duffster's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
All dogs are not the same (obivous fact I know) some are more sensitive to correction than others, meaning with some it will only take a harsh tone and others you have to just about knock their head off to get your point across (I am not talking about beating the crap out of them I am talking about using just enough force to get the desired result)...But you do need to get your point across... Electric training collars do work I have one and have used it on my dogs for different reasons with good results...Tried it on myself first , placed it on my forearm and worked up to the highest sett -
Nice day out Alan, makes me a little jealous...I guess I'll settle for coons... ...
