  1. To be honest it depends if you house then outside or indoors, there have been some posts of peoples ferrets already being pregnant & a post on here saying a jill dropped a litter a few weeks ago, mineare housed outside and were slightly in season a few weeks ago , not enough to be causing any problems yet though

    Fave....?

"Hurt" I hurt myself today To see if I still feel I focus on the pain The only thing that's real The needle tears a hole The old familiar sting Try to kill it all away But I remember everything [Chorus:] What have I become My sweetest friend Everyone I know goes away In the end And you could have it all My empire of dirt I will let you down I will make you hurt I wear this crown of thorns Upon my liar's chair Full of broken thoughts I cannot repair Beneath the stains of time The feelings disappear You are someone else I am still right her

  12. I agree as long as the offsprings are sound , you cant go wrong
  13. Oh i do hope you get him , its very frustrating just reading about the latest sightings of him & i prey we dont get any real bad weather in the next few weeks, still keeping everything crossed that you get the call to say he has been trapped or you manage to get him yourself
  14. I would have thought putting the best to the best to produce the best was the way to go, you know your ferrets & i really dont think colour comes into it, especially if your breeding ferrets to work. you obviously want hardy stock & handlable stock, the handling comes down to you before you re home any kits you dont keep for yourself If you get it right and produce good all round ferrets i dont think you will have a problem
  15. So sorry to hear about Lucy Happy Huning Girl

  18. I agree with your points on the shampoo and if a ferret is kept clean it shouldnt smell but i also choose ti castrate my last two ferrets as i wanted them to live together without the worry of the seasonal ragging, i lost a vasectomised hob to testicular cancer many yrs ago , so thats another reason i would choose to castrate. I couldnt keep the two hob kits i have now in the house for good as my husband has an allergy to them but i do worry about ferrets being kept indoors due to the unatural amount of light that they would be prolonged to I also think the new wave of ferret owne
  19. Brothers will also fight when in full blown season
  20. I agree Frank, i get worried about these illnesses peoples ferrets get such as adrenal disease, which some of the american vets are now thinking unatural amounts of light are a contribution to the disease What effect does lighting have on adrenal disease and hair loss? No one is really sure why adrenal disease is common in ferrets. One theory is that artificially increased "day lengths," due to humans keeping the lights on when it's dark outside, somehow interfere with the proper functioning of the adrenal glands and, over the long term, may contribute to the development of the disease. 21. I suppose if your on common land they could make an old by law stick if there was one, but if your on permission & the landowner wants the land clearing who is right then
  22. Not generally in the breeding season unless you get them castrated,
