    I'm with you on this one, big cats are not that elusive, they've got to shit, sent mark, there is no mistaking the smell of cat piss. Plus, females on heat can be heard for miles, if they were there, there would be no secret we would know , and the marks on that horse look nothing like big cat scratches. have to disagree with you on that one. in the paper a few weeks back it was saying about a man that made a documentry on big cats in britain. he collected so much evidence that the program wasnt allowed to be broadcasted because they would fear what the reaction of the public would be.

    Decent for a budget job. What i like about them is theyre not too obviously kennels, quite discreet. Just what people should be thinking about in this day and age.

    Sounds to me like theyre roughly 1/8th wheaton, 3/8ths bull, 1/2 greyhound with a very small dash of saluki (about 1/32th). But without seeing the breeding written down properly i cant say for sure. Anyway both parents look a nice stamp, and all that really matters is their working ability, so feck the fractions. atb

    Mines scared of fishermen, havnt a clue why, but she will take any other possible route as long as she doesnt have to pass a fisherman.

    Cut a length of seatbelt out of an old scrap car and just leg the rabbits onto it and sling it over your shoulder. When its not in use just bung it in your pocket.

    which pub and village is that as im from your neck of the woods dont know of any dog friendly pubs round here The Wheatsheaf at Dry Doddington, maybe a little way off for you. Get alot of country sorts in there, mostly shooters etc mind you, but a very decent pub all the same.

    Pub in the next village to me lets dogs in. Only pub worth going to locally to. Im sometimes in there with my mutt and my friends and their springers.

    But is it 'wastage' if someone , as you said Whin, doesn't need a pacy dog? To use word 'wastage' when describing pups is wrong IMO, if bred from a sighthound (in this case greyhound), the litter is just divided in their form and speed... One mans meat is another mans.....! Also, do you think a havier type of first cross that proved its worth would be ideal for a second cross back to greyhound or 3/4 bred dog? Advantage being the dog would have been properly tested in the field but still produce heavily collie blooded lurchers.

    I cant beleive people are actually critisising the legitimate use of bows for hunting... I personally would be honoured to be able to stalk a roe or red in a mature british woodland with the knowledge and ability to make a fatal shot. I can think a few more natural, back to basics ways of putting meat in the freezer. The air rifle used incorrectly is just as inhumane, the amount of people that take rediculous 'pot shots' is a joke. Maybe we should ban the use of air rifles to.

    Well done Im trapping rats for friend using my mk6 FENNS and mk4 FENNS and i much prefer the mk6s, more humane if set right.

    My albino hob was found wild last september time, now hes a very capable ferret and he was skin and bones when i found him. So i would say, yes some ferrets can survive but i would imagine the majority cant. Remember although the domestic ferret looks the same as a wild polecat, they are actually very different animals.

    well said, and a good point made! Not knocking anyone elses advice, just thats my take on things. More obedience training wont hurt of course either.

    I suggested what i did because by the sound of it the dog makes a bid for freedom because of his desire to hunt, hes hunting for himself because its the only way he knows how. He doesnt know to work WITH his owner. A bit of ratting in a 'controlled' environment (like a barn as suggested) IMO (which doesnt really count for shit) would be beneficial as it would teach the dog to listen to his owner and work with him. Not to mention melow the dog out a bit. Any dog with a high prey drive will ignore the recall if it is hot on the trail of its quarry UNLESS it knows working with you is the most suc

    Taking him out ratting in the correct environment will most probably help. He will learn to listen to you and work with you, because you are finding and flushing the rats for him. Might be worth considering pal

    When i was a kid it seemed like they were everywhere, allways see then when out fishing. Now is a different story, mink are about in numbers and i havnt seen a water vole for probably 10 years.
