  1. Moped lol. Obviously an anti. Real men use 4x4. Stop bothering me now I'm looking for a well bred dog on pets 4 us.com
  2. Na it's what I do innit. Not really, I just sell the dog and buy another one until I get lucky. Been unlucky 6 times this season but I'll find a well bred killer one day
  3. Grab the fox and bite it's neck to show it what to do. If the dog doesn't copy kick the shit out of it. If that doesn't work sell it and buy another one.
  4. Can you imagine billhardy and whin in the same room. Would make your ears bleed.
  5. Don't doubt it but iv also seen young lurchers turn off a fox that flew to the job after some encouraging. Like I said each to their own. The oft quoted " well bred" bit comes through when they are put under the cosh a bit once entered imo.
  6. Do you take your young terrier out and just fire it into an earth ? Mine see dead ones, ragging and teasing to create plenty of antipathy toward fox. As said some won't do it, lurcher or terrier but preliminary work will increase the chance of a dog of at least trying. Slipping a young lurcher cold on a fox isn't something I would entertain but each to their own. And if you read my posts I didn't advocate doubling up a youngster.
  7. And thats why there are so many dogs sold-no effort=no reward. Slip and hope=can't be arsed to put some effort into training.
  8. Slip and hope-seems to be a common method among lurchermen...
  9. I would definitely give it more experience before entering to fox if it's only had a few rabbits. . And as havelightforce said, more chance of a bite if the other dog grabs the back end when doubled. Give it a winter on rabbit etc and enter on immature vulpine (grown cubs) at the end of summer would be my plan. . Plenty ragging on dead ones will get the fire up for them.
  10. She'll grow out of it 100% bud. Most pups ears do this unless they have tiny ears.
  11. Good work mate. Hope you cleaned up that ketchup spill.
  12. Absolutely Phil. It's finding the fecker that's the problem. Thats the reasoning behind my search for 3/4 whippet-it will be fast enough but retain a little sagacity with a dash of cur. I may still go with a whippet yet or maybe a dash of terrier if not. I've trained sight hounds to a decent obedience level in the past, so why not. Shame about the recent litter on the other site, crackers. hey ho if you aint in, you aint in ...
  13. That's why I'll always get a pup mate. I can feck a dog up myself without taking on others mistakes. Lol
  14. No way NL whim says they're mongrels. He lives amongst it you know. ?
  15. Hi all. After a 3/4 whippet 1/4 collie pup. Thought I had found one but the mating didn't take. I'm after a smallish intelligent dog for pest control duties. It's a specific mix I know and rare for some reason but if there are any litters out there from good parents please get in touch. Cheers
  16. Yeah, I just need a small quickish dog with good head on it's shoulders to help out with my job in pest control mate. May try a whippet if I cant find a collie cross but I like a touch of collie.
  17. 3/4 whippet 1/4 collie. Had one booked but bitch didn't take unfortunately. Hard to find mate.
  18. I'll have one from you next year Dave. On the lookout for a pup at the mo that will be ready for next season. 120 doing ok for what I do at the moment.
  19. I had a 120 from you Dave. Nice bright light, but wider beam than I prefer. Do you have one with similar light output but narrower beam? 120 with beam half as wide would be the perfect lamp imo.
  20. No bud I meant baying like a hound on a scent. Hunting or running a line must be an English term I guess
  21. I'm meaning baying on a line Dan. They would strike up in kennels occasionally but a sharp word would stop them ?
  22. Mine were, sang like hounds on a line. If you have one that sings, the rest usually pick up the habit. You would have some fun over there with them Dan.
