  1. I know about spelling, punctation and grammar, which is what I was talking about in this thread. WTF is punctation ? Just a matter of time and I knew you would do it. Cock !
  2. Just a thought guys.....could we have this debate on the BBC site, might help get the "point" across. Might also be worth advocating that we don't agree with tresspass and advising that a ferret finder has absolutley F**K all to do with anything illegal ?
  3. This tends to be a bit more "rounded" and informative. http://www.fieldsportschannel.tv/index2.html :whistling:
  4. I'm pretty sure that decoying (baiting ?) magpies with foil / shiny items is illegal. Everything else is fine, in my garden I tend to leave a bin bag on the lawn and spread a couple of eggshells and litter as if the bag has been ripped open. It works an absolute treat. (Even better whan a stray piece of KitKat foil wrapper happens to blow in..... :whistling: :whistling:
  5. Hi Helen, All shoots / beats are different. my local shoot has various types and breeds of dogs (and people !). Some are there for a day out in the country with their labs who stay on the lead untill the shoot is over. Others are there with their well trained / working spaniels(and some terriers) doing what the dog is supposed to do. The minimum requirement has got to be recall, the last thing anybody needs is a dog that charges into cover when the guns are not ready. (this would only happen once before the keeper "had a word with you") Seeing a dog work with a good owner is a wonder
  6. Thanks for the advice on this one guys. I have passed on the info.....if he chooses to ignore i'll give him a walkie talkie and stay well away next time we are out together. Quite an interesting topic though this one, 1) it appears that paint ballers fill their "guns" with nitrogen 2) one of the biggest issues (according to google) is the pressure that it is stored at- giving a very quick (possibly innacurate) transfer from cylinder to gun. 3) US shooters are split 50 / 50 with opinion and useage As someone with a professional diving qualification I have mountains of equipmen
  7. Best Regards Zini, Hope you have a good one.
  8. A mate of mine, I STRESS ..a mate of mine. Has just been given an AA310. He's done a bit of shooting in the past and is keen to get back into it. He asked me last night if he could fill his new gun with Nitrogen rather than the standard dive shop air. He works in air conditioning or something and has Nitrogen "on tap" (excuse the pun). I am quite happy with my normal air but thought i'd ask on his and my behalf. Don't want to be peering over his shoulder if he's holding a Cheers Belly.
  9. Hi Zak, To be honest I find it perfect weight wise. It is a little heavier than some but at 6'3 it fits like a glove. All my shooting seems to be free standing on kneeling and so far it's been on the money. I guess it comes down to practice and useage. Thanks for the kind comments guys, tried to upload the picture and do the write up from the field on my iPhone but the new site won't allow it
  10. My Missus loved these ones I bought her...( X Missus now!)
  11. That looks real pretty........ Looking forward to seeing the results.
  12. Was supposed to be working from home today, managed to crunch through a load shit and decided to pop down to the permission this arvo. Weather here in the midlands is a barmy 18c and sunny so a walk in the fields was spot on. Plenty of bunnies hopping about enjoying the weather so I got myself comfy, switched off the safety and waited. One of the rabbits was a little larger than the others so I had decided that he was the "chosen one". I was watching him in the sights but he kept edging away from me, I slipped into stalking mode and made like a hedge. Got him down to 32-33 ya

  16. Was out beating yesterday and saw this little gathering of mushroom, not a fantastic shot as it was a "grab" whilst trying to keep up with the line. Love the colours though- very Autmunul. Cheers, Belly.

  20. You really neeed to consider what the lens is going to be used for. If you are after close up shots of Roe and Red Deer from half a mile a way a 100mm lens is not really going to do the job. You will see a lot of heavily cropped pictues about that have a halo effect which is the result of bring the subject closer digitally rather than optically. ( I know there will exceptions to this rule .... ) If its close ups of fauna you will need something else etc. etc. My personal opinion is to get a decent body with a kit lens, use this lens until you know how it works inside out and what perfoman
