  2. your not going to go far wrong with anything like that to be honest,as long as it fits into your surroundings then job done, movement is the true give away f**k me them pigeons can see alright,so dont bye the one with the hands sticking out the top of it lol
  3. usually happens on the cast when the hook link is to long and a cheap non coated braid is used,i would use the most expensive coated braid you can afford and just strip the outer coating off at the end for your knotless knot to the hook, the rest of the link will now stay slightly stiff, keep them short is the key imo and should easily overcome the problems your getting, also just feather the line down as you cast you want it dropping on the spot from above not just firing it in from your position if that makes sense
  4. http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/135281-micro-ferrets/page__view__findpost__p__1377090 bit of info here mate
  5. other than lamping on your own i don't know, but just because you walk away from your mate and his dog does not mean yours is not aware of their presence therefore causing it to hold back as it were,at 16month its still a young dog, with plenty of work and a bit more time served it may well come good,be interested to hear what people come up with as i never had this problem before, good luck with it anyway mate

  14. lets hope so mate lol,see you in couple months
  15. not everyone will have the chance for the green bunnys, to help a pup on with running the lamp and watching the beam i will double up but that is not with any dog, i will with one of my bitches but not another, as you say the frustrtion and jealously can ruin dogs, i agree it can be frustrating when a young dog doesn't follow the beam on a sweep, but walking it up on a few bunnies with a few words of encouragement to get them going is not really any hardship, and to be fair within a few nights generally the dog will pick it up anyway
  16. your more than welcome mate, big and bold just how i like it lol, glad to be of help
  17. you said it yourself mate,"slip, buckle and breaks its neck" to easy to lose a dog anyway without adding to it,as i say jmo that's all
  18. iv bounced a few foxes out of hedgerows with the dog over the years so not always easy to say that you know full well they not going to catch it,can and does happen especially if your dog readily enters cover after its quarry although others iv had i wouldn't think of slipping for obvious reasons
  19. doubling up a dog on bunnies is a total no go imo, just asking for trouble as accidents all to easy when running bunnies, but sounds like the dog doing ok now, good luck with it mate atb
  20. id pay good money to see you hit a moving target with a rimfire, think the question is shotgun related, read the topic lol You mean like this guy? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uVes_PdNufs that's not stumpy though is it
  21. well i have started my 11month old bitch off,and after her first successful catch last night it just got me thinking,iv just read on another thread someone has run their young dog doubled up on rabbits to get it going as it were, for me this is a complete NO....NO...,why?well nearly twenty years ago i went out with a lad that was in this game to show me the ropes with a young bitch i had to start her off. instructions were given that i should slip my bitch with his older seasoned dog so i did,her first ever run,and off they went,my mates dog turned the rabbit along the hedgerow into the path o
