leave your hide up and keep feeding it..they will come back feed a week or two the sit in the hide and count them in BUT leave before its too late. of you may scare them ALL away if the leave before you think the last are in then even if you scare the ones already down off as you leave then the late comers will still keep comeing and draw others in....if that makes any sence same with shooting it leave a bit early and let a few come in undisturbed -
hate them more than words describe! but credit were its due...martin fletcher is a decent bloke one of the top men in the arsepca for nw cumbria. when my dogs got lifted and was told by the copper to "wave them goodbye" he done his dammed best to get them back and less than a week later they were back to me (overweight) with a full letter of apology from the police and the f****r from the kennels who took them..

Commercial ammo is more powerful as the military aren't allowed expanding ammo due to the Geneva Convention. Military bullets try to deliver more energy by tumbling. Commercial ammo induces hydrostatic shocking trhough expansion / fragmentation. Or to give you a more visual explanation. A soldier shot through the arm / leg often has a wound that can be bandaged (that doesn't mean its not serious). However, the same shot using commercial ammo would most probably sever all arteris veins. muscles, bone and blow the arm / leg clean off the body (depending on the calibre of course - but you wou -

I am guessing by the belligerent tone of his post and the way he playfully uses the local dialect in such an entertaining way , that he is using the word "bracket "as a simile for the jaw .He obviously has a predilection for literary wordplay , the fun way he skilfully manages to include the malapropism about the "hammer on the head " a la Dickens , was pure genius , if only more members showed this level of literary ambition the site would be a better place to be . well done that man ! now go and sit over their.......with the rest of the educated members of THL -
both we used to rear all our own and sell the rest.......and some years depending on how the boss was feeling and what orders we had, we would sell all the pheasants and buy our 13,000 in you see ours were real good birds reared in small sheds on grass so they could sell for as much as four fifty a bird but we could buy in for 2. a bird, the down side is bought in stuff was shite and we had a struggle with it, but thats why you have good keepers. its all about the bottom line at the end of the day
