  2. i agree with millet . used that combination for years . nice and light. also i can get the 7 amp gell bateries for a £5 of melton catle market. all you need then is a carrier. i use an old cammera bag with shoulder strap.
  3. YOU DONT HAVE TO PUT A QUIKSET ON ENXPENSIVE POLES. YOU CAN USE HAZEL OR WHATEVER. RAMBO HAS 2, 25 YRD NETS BOTH ON WOODEN PEGS. AND ONLY TODAY I HAVE CUT 10 BLACKTHORN PEGS THAT I HAVE POINTED AND SANDED THE BURS OFF, AND NOW JUST STRAIGHTNING. THESE ARE TO BE USED ON MY NEXT PRESET LONGNET TOMO
  4. ferreting with long nets becomes very adictive, evrybody who has come out with me for the first time , loves it straight a way. it is of course the simplist thing to do on open burrys. but where the adiction kicks in , is when you start looking at evry ferreting situation. and think to your self , could i use the long net here in stead of messing about with all those silly bloody purse nets. and in alot of cases you could, even hedge rows and in some woodland. only a couple of days ago i was setting purse nets under a load of black thorn. i just couldnt get the long nets round it pr
  5. AS RABBIT HUNTER SAYS THEY CAN DO THAT. BUT IN MY EXPERIANCE I LIKE TO GET PLENTY FERRETS IN. THIS REALY GETS THEM MOVING . AS SOON AS THEY HOP IN TO ANOTHER HOLE A FERRET IS WAITING. ALSO IF YOU HAVE ENCIRCLED THE BURRY AND HAVE NET LEFT , OR MORE NETS , THEN CRISS CROSS IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU LIKE. TOMO

  8. the reason its better than legging them is because when you leg a rabbit the meat on the leg that got legged dries up a bit , dont get me wrong this is only a small thing i know. and of course its quiker than legging when allyou do is shove the sharp bit through the rabbits leg .you can put them on the pins whilst walking. although this takes a bit of practice. 9. duck wing you can improve those carriers by shortning the shoulder straps so they dont hang so far down. i personly im not keen on those as rabbit piss tends to leek down you. i use these large safty pins which you just push through the rabbits hock. i have been yousing this method for 18 year. its quik and eficiant. each safty pin hangs off the end of a bit of webbibing in much the same way as the neck carriers in the pics. nobby on this site has now improved on my safty pins by making some even bigger ones. i will ask him to put a pic up to show you all. on these new ones i can carr

Mapreader said it all realy rew. its a tried and tested method . we used to hit some great plases that were two hot to do in daylight . fullmoon is easyer , and it gives you somthing to do when you cant go lamping or netting.. i very often did this alone , and always took the dog. one place i did alot was a deer park and most times the dog would acount for one in the light of the moon and before brinded tryed it, we were doing 20 years ago. and no dowt generations of poachers before. dont listen to the smart arses on here who have never done it mate, get out there and do it. 21. dont forget hancocks :11:
  22. just make sure you are between the rabbit and where its wanting to run to , ie a wood or hedge or if on open land and you know there is a warren on one side of the field then get between them. this will usualy mean the rabbit is head on, with an inexperienced dog you may have to walk out close to the rabbit. but with experience the dog will learn to go down the beam TOMO
