  1. Hi All I'm thinking about showing my BullX bitch for a bit of fun this summer at a show or two if I get the chance. What I want to know is can you show dogs that have scars, lumps and bumps etc? My girl is full of them but I still think she's a stunner. Will judges frown upon those 'imperfections' or do they judge more on physique etc?
  2. My BullX bitch is steady as a rock with sheep if I'm with her but if we are walking for example through thick bracken and a sheep bolts and she's not close, I wouldn't trust her 100%, I think her prey drive is just so strong that when she's in the zone and hunting cover, anything that breaks out is gonna get chased especially if Daddy isn't there to bollock her!
  3. Again, thank you all for your comments. Its good to share the grief with people who have the same affiliation and affection with their dogs.
  4. I am ashamed to say I don't remember her Sire's name but I do remember the Dam's name which was Sally2. I remember seeing the Sire and he was a rough coated dog...the name Frank rings a bell but I could be wrong. I had it written on the receipt I got from Hancock 14 odd years ago but god knows where it is.
  5. Stunning markings on her mate , all the best with her
  6. Thank you all for your kind comments
  7. I lost my oldest dog Jodie last night, she would have been 15 on the 13th of this month. She had severe trouble breathing towards the end and we had to have her PTS. She was a Hancock 3/4 Grey 1/8 Border 1/8 Beardie. I'll never forget the day I went to see Hancock and I had my eyes set on a 1/2 cross but I saw her and couldn't resist, she had a silvery blue muzzle when she was younger and was a stunning dog in her prime. She accounted for all legal quarry in her time and I am proud to have owned her. RIP old lass. A few pics of her at her best....
  8. I always used to consider the Bee Orchid as quite rare as I only knew of one place where I could maybe find them each year. But in the last couple of years I discovered a huge patch of them which had come up in a margin left by a farmer on one of his rape fields near where my Mother lives. The weird thing was that before the farmer stated leaving the margin (which I presume he started doing for some sort of environmental / subsidy reason?) the Bee Orchids must have laid dormant during cycles and cycles of cereals and other crops rotations before they had the chance to grow naturally. Do these
  9. I can recomend the 'quiet site' in the Lakes.Got a great dog friendly pub on site, full of hunting stuff. Apparently nothing has changed in there for 30 odd years! We were the first in and last out every night, lol.. Bloke behind the bar is a font of knowlage for the area. Decent base, easily see all of the Lake districk from there. Well worth a visit if you've not been before, ? I can vouch for that mate, The Quiet Site is great, been going there for years and the bar there is fantastic

    Dreams ?

spot on mate, I think its the tabs , as ive know few people on the same tabs , have mad nightmares, and over 30 odd years prob fecked me mind and gut up I reckon . but its either take them or have bad back pain, and I lead a fairly active life doing lots of things, which suppose I wouldn't if I was in pain 24/7 , so it taking tabs, and have strange dreams lol. well if just tramadol they make me feel sick 24/7, so been on these tramerset as said on post , which is 1/2 t and 1/2 p , they easier on my guts . there compared to a tramadol 1/2 as strong for pain relief , but rather

    Dreams ?

I have messed up dreams, some I can remember in the morning but then they fade away and I can't remember but some stick in my mind forever. Dreams aside mate, nothing wrong with a couple of Tramadol ??, partial to a few of them occasionally but taking em for 35 years! That's bound to have an impact on the old noggin

  18. A good 1/2 Bull 1/2 Grey 1st cross IMO. Might not be the fastest but is a pure powerhouse and could, pre ban of course, take down most species of Bambi ?
