  1. She is certainly feisty, Bill, and a cracken worker.
  2. This is the second time I have tried to introduce these pair, the first was in the Summer, where i thought the problem could be hormonal. I have an albino Jill and a smaller poley, which appears to be the aggressor. put the both of of them in a double tier hutch. that the Albino had been in on her own. I introduced them four days ago with a little warm milk and egg This is the only time I gave milk. The poly fed on her own then took over the nest box, when the Albino tried to enter the sleeping quarters the fighting started, these skirmishes lasted off and on throughout the day. I then
  3. When i go on a Members profile and click on send message, it comes up, and i can type the pm but when i try and send. The send has dissapeared, unabling me to send out pms Never used to have this problem. Can anyone help.
  4. tried to get the Mods to pin up the names of Lads who fix the mark1 and sell new collars. but the Mods appear to be uninterested. As this subject comes up, time after time.
  5. marcomastrangelo pmd you yesterday, perhaps you can pm him.
  6. Cant beat the bulldog Rabbiting spade.
  7. Tug, how far down from the point would you put the nut? Would you have half or inch of the point showing?
  8. Dont know if you started her on the lure when young. I was told by an experienced Whippet racer that you have to start them young. My Beddy X Whippets would not chase the lure, only live. But they had never been taught, unlike my present Whippet, who was on the lure as a pup, not over taxed. and he will chase the lure and live.
  9. Pocket Rocket I would get that probe shortened, mines is similar to Sirius, it fits in the bottom of my bag.
  10. I feed raw, but I do the Rabbits in a pressure cooker 2o mins and the flesh peels of the bone, use the juice to soften the biscuit. raw carrot and broccoli and Keepers mix thrice a week. Dont have a problem with it running through him.
  11. Certainly gets good reviews, I like the idea of the power being from the mains. I can manage with the clippers, but if you cant it could be worth a punt, end up cheaper in the long run, than using a Vet.
  12. I dont believe in boosters, never had them done, and never had any bother over the years. But unfortunately if I go on holiday abroad, I sometime use kennels, and if you dont have boosters or kennel cough on your certificate, then your stuffed. Even though difficult, I would do the nails myself and get your wormers like Drontol on line.
  13. Im the same a Tomo, have used them a lot over the years just at the end of a dig to locate the tube. Mine are also short about 14 inch. The proper name is a Probe.
  14. Thanks for the advice Rob, been ferreting solo for 46 years its good getting a hand with the gear once in a while. But it wont be permanent.
  15. So why would Deben not make them,as i said they could carry on making the mark.1
  16. Would certainly consider it Laurie. How's things? Not heard from you in a while. Just getting out once a week with the ferrets, as ive managed to talk my better half into being my apprentice, It means not a lot of Bunnies, as she thinks ferreting is boring, and after a couple of hours wants to go home, Tried to pm you but couldn't get through, is your box full?
  17. I would as well, you would think Deben would see the big money being made in Ebay, and also the publicity the mark1 receives on forums. They could still carry on making the mark3 just run the two together, and therefore catering for everyone.
  18. Out of interest if Deben brought back the mark1 at a decent price, a years guarantee and spare parts available, would you purchase one?
  19. If you can come on here on line, and upload Photos. Then you can work a mark3,I have the both kinds, but I also prefer the mark1. I bet if Deben stated producing the Mark1 at a decent price, they would sell easily.
  20. http://i1231.photobucket.com/albums/ee509/dumfries002/jp005.jpg[/img. Best Ratter i have seen, she ratted with Lakeys, pats and Russel's, hated Rats with a vengeance, and she would take the most Rats.
  21. I have same problem, which in years of keeping Ferts has never been a problem. I have two Jills who hate each other, I tried twice in the Summer, but each time they continued to fight and I had to separate them. Thinking it could be hormonal i decided to try in the Winter, putting them in with a fresh Rabbit to keep them occupied, but it made no difference. It would be easier if I could keep them together, thinking of just leaving them together, or just giving up and keeping them separate. How much damage do you think they could inflict on each other?
  22. Never used a Rabbit skin with a Ferret, is your Ferret one of this years kits? if so, it will still be immature, and wont come into its best till next Season. I have a Jill here that was never out in its first Season,it was just well handled and looked after. Took her out first time this Season and she went like a train, bolting Rabbits. She was from a very long line of working Ferrets, so I had no worries about her working abilities. If its a Kit, you can persevere, or try and get hold of an experienced Ferret for the Season, but this wont be easy.
  23. You could have a dog transporter bring it over?
  24. Carrying your bag, nets, ferrets and spade and your catch is not easy, especially at my age. I started out years ago with a Lurcher and six nets in my pocket, I was happy to return with a rabbit. A young 64 Ferreter.
