  1. WOW, what a head! Cracking little dogie! Is him also from your dog, Loui? ATB, Anna
  2. Does the dog whisperer do it with terriers? I've also heared that it helps separating fighting dogs when you splash water on them. It may help - but not with terriers. I would seriously think if to keep both dogs in that case. ATB, Anna
  3. I can not really help you, but I have a question connected to it, I hope you don't mind if I write it to this topic. From where you can I know if a dog is "ready"? - if it enters by itself, does it mean? - if he works the quarry, does it mean? - if he still wants it after the first bites (on him), does it mean? What else is to know in the subject? (what blood brings faster and what slower entered dogs?) Thx in advance, Anna
  4. sporting terrier assosiation . com Thank you! I've found it at sporting lucasterrier association . co . uk ATB, Anna
  5. I see thank you! More pics (or a website) would be welcome. ATB, Anna
  6. Nice pup! Hope it will make the grade for your son...and for you too! Edited to ask: are Lucas terriers actually working Sealyhams? Or what else in them? In what are they other than Sealyhams? Any pics of the parents maybe? would help a lot! Thank you and wish you ATB, Anna
  7. Thx for replying! Than I have a question: what about the short legged Russells, or the Dachshunds? Is size everything? Anna
  8. What would you count to be too small? I haven't seen yet terriers being too small (I don't say there aren't), while I see tons on them being waaay too big. ATB, Anna
  9. Yes. Dogs go bigger at shows. I myself is a fan of smaller type - but still correct proportioned - terriers. ATB, Anna
  10. As to my knowledge the Parson was breeding "working Fox terriers". So we talk about square bodied dogs from the beginning. When he died his relatives and other people tryed to sell everything that was white bodied with markings as Parson's own dogs as this way they could sell them for better price. As for Clubs: JRTC of GB uses another standard than the KCs. I would say it is more for working dogs. They actually have what KC people would call as Parsons. The JRTC of GB has several Clubs in many countries all over the world, for example in the USA (JRTCA), in Germany (JRTV), in Jap
  11. Nice bitch. Does she work? Anna
  12. I don't exactly know what the (original) work of an Irish terrier was, but in Hungary some use them for blood tracking. http://irterrier.hu/gal/munka/ I wish you and your friend luck to find fine working Irish terriers mate! Anna
  13. The Patterdale does have written standard(s) and it is registerable in the US and in some European countries in the FCI. I also hope they will leave Patterdales alone. Though I must admit, the German Hunt Terrier is recognised quite long ago and it is still solely a working breed. Just IMO, Anna
  14. WOW, what a head! Very nice dog, all the best with him! Anna
  15. Where is the dog's tail? Good luck with him anyway. ATB, Anna
  16. Ooops! Sorry, Erik (and others)! As my other website ( www.russellrescue.mlap.hu ) put to te same free-website doesn't work either, I must think it is because of the company itself. I ask for your patience, it must work in some hours or max. tomorrow I guess. Thank you for saying! ATB, Anna
  17. There is a fair amount of people here on the forum not being able to read and understand of what they read. CumbrianJack, come and visit us, see how we work our dogs on fox, wild boar and badger! (It's legal here.) We would be happy to invite you (or anyone else) being interested to come over here and work their and/or our dogs. If not, than take the time and read of what I have written of my dogs, or simply visit: www.parson-russell.hu ATB, Anna
  18. Aaron01, I agree with what is told before me. But everyone to his own. Importing working dogs is quite an expensive and risky thing, but the laws of your country makes it even harder. You can not import a pup due to the "TITER test" which requires 6 months after the rabies shot of the dog. At time the dog is minimum about 9 months of age. At a 9-10 months old dog the owner can see if the dog will work or not. If it will work, why would the owner sell it to you, he kept it for 9 months. If it won't work, maybe he will start later or maybe he will not. Keeping the dog to that age (f

  22. Hi Nino, My questions would be: what do you consider the best? The one that breeds the most working dogs? The on that breeds few, but quality dogs? Big breeders? Those that besides working they sldo show their dogs with success? I would visit: Eddie and Jane Chapman (Foxwarren), Mick Kemmish, Don Campbell (East Essex), Geoff Burnhill (Paxton), Bob Clough (Pengelli), Greg Mousley (Meynell), Ken Gould and Colin and Julie Bright (Foxcombevale). There are sure more that are worth a nice visit, but are no more on my mind at the moment. I wish you a pleasant ju
