  5. I need as much info and peoples experience's of doing this with dogs? Where can i get straws taking from my dog in ireland? all help appriciated

  7. And also to see the banner man talking about hunting.. A good voice to have for hunting in Ireland.. Pitty there wasn't more like him!
  8. Theres a few out there alright.. the lads i know that have them just keep themselves to themselves. Its an awful pity the show scene ruined the breed...
  9. Just to say, was talking to a man that incubates around 10,000 birds a year the other day and i asked him the same question, he said that it hadnt nothing to do with moisture but was more than likely an infection the eggs picked up either where they were layed of a dirty incubator!
  10. Best of luck with the pup lad, at least theres good breeding in him so the rest should fall into place for you
  11. Was giving an incubator off a friend to hatch out a few pheasant eggs, the dew date came for them to hatch and only a 3rd of the batch i had on hatched. i cracked open a few that didnt hatch and they were fully formed but dead. Is there any reason as to why they were dead and didn't hatch even though temp ad moisture was monitored 100%??
  12. Neil is that the reason why some fellas think hen pheasants dont breed when released? I have heard from different lads that released hens won't breed, i dont have much experience to comment just curious of your opinion?
  13. b*****ds! Thanks for sharing Neill.
  14. Bitch had 6 pups,3 dogs 3 bitchs but they got that puppy syndrome disease and i lost 5 pups,1 bitch survived 10 months old 23rd january.I was later told i could have had the bitch jabbed against it but i never heard of it until it happened, lesson learned for next time i decide to breed a litter, vet said its actually a sexual transmitted disease that dogs can pass on.that was an awful pity.Best of luck with the survivor, hope she makes the grade!
  15. Well organised, great crack and for a good cause! Best of luck to all packs involved.
  16. How did the repeat mating go for you fatman?
  17. When it was legal to dock i used to like to get another pair of hands to hold the wriggling pup on its back while i pulled the skin back twoards the pup and made the right cut! A quick and easy practice! some vets havnt a clue!!
  18. My glenn dog died recently he wasnt well for a while. Couldnt give them away. Sent a few of them out of the country to a couple of clever people. They seem to be doing well for them. The Irish lads didnt seem to be interested in them unfortunately. Good worker he was pitty he didnt get to breed a few more bitches and probably pass some of his positives on to a few more glenns sorry to hear that, a real pity! I only noticed your topic on your old dog today.. best of luck with those two russells!
  19. Nice pups, how are those glens doing?
