  1. Thats your choice Poacher, however, a dog being stitched up repeatedly I did NOT want, a dog that took weeks to heal, I did NOT want. I dont mind any dog taking a bit of damage, never have, but this dog was not working in a manner I was happy with, my choice, not yours. Of course I was, a boy was enjoying a day at crufts with his father, taking pictures, why on earth would I have a problem with that? it was NOT a bench, it was in the discover dogs section, not that it matters. If I had anything to hide I would of asked him not to take pictures wouldnt I? You lot really are somethi
  2. Wouldnt know SJM, mine dont eat shit!!
  3. Thats pefectly fine by me Chief, you dont have to read any posts you are not interested in. Must of missed that bit, when was it? Furthermore, if it was previous to this, why did you bother reading this one?? What you believe holds no interest for me Chief, believe whatever you like, your condecending, remarks mean nothing to me, I am used to dealing with people like that. Fair comment, of course you have the right to an opinion, however, unless you know the facts behind your nasty remarks, I would suggest you kept them to yourself, this is the very type of thing this
  4. Get the chip off your shoulder, its doesnt suit you. Not my problem if you choose do do one thing alone with your dogs Chief is it? relax, take a chill pill, there's a lot more out there you know!
  5. Thanks Pointer, he does look a grumpy sod doesnt he!
  6. Yes Chief hopefully, some dogs can do more than one thing, lucky us Border owners, thanks for the insult. Was it necessary? Thanks Marko, Conundrum/Dandyhow bred, much like my bitch. Dawn.

    scrufts

Have to say it again Redrob, you can look after a dogs coat whatever they do! If you strip your Border out, it will grow back correctly, when it needs stripping again, do it again. If you let it get out of control, then of course it will be off in chunks, its dead hair and needs to be removed! Dawn.
  8. I do both with my Borders, hand strip and use a knife (must be blunt) You can use a knife easily if you know how, a coat thats not ready will be cut rather than stripped. dawn.
  9. 9yrs IMO is way too old, and having two previous litters also, well I wouldnt do it. The risk of complications is way higher in an old dog, many Terriers and Lurchers have been retired a few yrs at 9, breeding from them IMO is not fair. Look at it like this, would you be happy if your 70yr old granny got pregnant?
  10. Who reported him him for having a dangerous dog? It them he wants to find, not the council, if informed they are only carrying out the rules within the tennancy. Dawn.

    CATS!!!!

No they are NOT classed as vermin. Look, best thing to do is to speak to the Cats owner and tell them its being a nuisance and your dogs are not happy bunnies, then if the Cat persists, well you know....!!! You did all you can. I have 5 Cats and I adore them, because I adore them I have inverted fencing around my garden so they cant get out, suggest that to them too, that way the Cat cant get out to annoy anyone else. Dawn.

    CATS!!!!

If your dogs kill a Cat, YOU are responsible, you can be charged for having your dog dangerously out of control, and it does happen. yes I own Cats and I would be bloody livid if one of mine was hurt! Unfortunately (for dog owners) Cats are protected by law, unlike dogs, their owners are NOT responsible for their actions, as they are still classed as a wild animal. Have you spoken to the Cts owner? tell them the problem, at least they will be aware then. Dawn.
  13. Sad news Vim, sorry to hear it. Dawn.
  14. Cant remember whether it does or not, dont think so, but anyway its enter on the day with all of them. Dawn.
  15. Dont you guys feel like you are banging your heads up a brick wall?? Why on earth do we bother??
  16. CECS or Canine Epileptoid cramping syndrome is a condition that has always been confused with Epilepsy, it doesnt only affect Borders, in fact Labs are probably the worst sufferers, I have seen Labs, Borders, Jack Russells with it. The reason you are hearing more about in in Borders is that the breeders HAVE done something about it and are not burying their heads in the sand like other breeds! It is thought to be inherited but there is still a long way to go to finding a genetic marker etc.. Food does seem to play a part in it, and certain proteins seem to make it worse. A few things
  17. Yep, thats what I was going to suggest next. Click on 9 races. Dawn.
  18. Pups look well, coming on lovely, having another myself in a few weeks, all show crap bred of course! Dawn.
  19. To me, all those puppies look nice. The conformation on all is identical, good bone etc.. its really down to the temperament, go for a bouncey, outgoing one, one that doesnt back off and is friendly etc.,. If they are all like that, then pull straws because they all look lovely! Dawn.
  20. Super pic Alimac, thanks. Yes Joe, all adult birds, or at least young birds, seem to be all male, there are no estates near here that breed Pheasants, in fact there arent any estates really! Dawn.
  21. I agree, it isnt right, if you cant use them, they shouldnt breed them. Dawn.
  22. Its local, popped along yesterday, few bird, few not! Dawn.
  23. 2 lovely pups there. The second one if you look is just a bit wary of the floor surface and is trying to grip with its nails. Dawn.
