  6. I used to have the older version non PDZ one but sold it. It was good but very slow to auto focus. A very good all round lens though for image quality. The newer version is a lot smaller and the image quality is still supposed to be reasonably good, but it is still slow to auto focus. It's a bit of a jack of all trades lens and at £370 new it is not cheap compared to the 55-250 at £175 and the 70-300 at £350 on Amazon. That is if you are using Canon I don't think I would buy another one.

  9. After a previous post about what camera to get for action shots I thought I would take some photos of my dogs having a run this morning as I was off work, taken with a Canon 7D (at 8fps). I have even missed a couple out. Catching up The nudge The threat

  11. I had a Canon 500D when I first got into photography and that was fine, I got some good action shots with it and a Tamron 18-270mm. I now have a Canon 7D and it is awsome but you need to know how to use it as the auto mode is not worth bothering with due not being able to select focus points. High frames per sec is good until you have to sift through them which is why I rarely use the highest setting but it does sound great when I do. Lens wise you will need something long ie 70-200mm or even up to 300mm for dogs as they don't tend to run close to you often. Buy the best lens you can
