  1. Thanks for the responces, I am still pleased to have got a shot of it and will keep my eyes peeled next time for it. I have tried to blow it up some more so now over 100% from this
  2. We see a lot of Buzzards, Kestrels and the odd Kite near us (Surrey) but this is new to me. by PINNACLE PHOTO LOG, on Flickr We had a Collared Dove killed and eaten in our garden about 2 weeks ago and I got a breif glimps of a very similar bird finishing it off before it saw me in the window and left. I took these two shots this weekend when I was out with the dogs and my kids about 3 miles away on one of the local commons. I spotted it a long way off, it moved very quickly, darted round a few trees before sitting on this branch. It had thin long wings and it did not hover like

  4. I will love this photo forever just for the look on my wife's face when I told her they were living on our ceiling. by PINNACLE PHOTO LOG, on Flickr
  5. Ritchie I am not sure if I understand your post 100% so please take this the right way. It is not the gear that matters it is the picture. I think you need to get a camera, any camera or at least use your phone (most have a camera)and go and take some pictures, there have been some great wildlife shots taken and posted here and other forums with mobiles and not on high end gear. As an example I have only ever seen two live badgers yet there are quite often posts on here taken on a mobile of them. Or a view that is stunning or a dog you go wow for. Any camera can get that spec
  6. Put your cursor on the code in photobucket it will say copied, then paste it on here. It is easier to have both sites open in two tabs. To check it has worked press preview
  7. Welcome to THL and a good first post, some nice photos there.
  8. I do realise there were not many takers on eating these but after watching Countryfile last night it came to my attention that these Roman snails are protected and it is illegal to hunt, kill or even harm them. They are the fox of the mollusc world.
  9. Thanks for the comments it was a bit of a grab shot but another good reason why I take my camera with me on dog walks. bob.243 It is the view of Albury from Newlands Corner near Guildford, Surrey.
  10. Brilliant photos the puffin with it's beak full #1 for me.
  11. What software do you have did you get some with your camera? If you don't have any or if it does not have a straighten tool Picasa does, it is free and is quite good for all the basic editing just google it.
  12. Thanks Neal. I am walking my dogs at a different spot in the mornings and it is just full of life but with two lurchers running about it is not easy to get close some times.
  13. Is this a Skylark like I got flying the other day? I am going to buy a book of birds of the uk tomorrow but I do know this is a Kestrel
  14. Not the best image but it was moving about a fair bit. noisy little thing and ground nesting I think as it dived into the long grass and did not come out again for ages.
