  1. Daughter had hers a week ago , was very ill for 24 hours. I'm still delaying mine a bit ...but will get it soon.
  2. Feck me , the farmer who owns the land of our shoot leaves dead sheep lying about all over , surprised hes never been prosecuted.
  3. Totally agree , shot foxes should be hidden out of sight as you say just ammo to portray on social media, what people dont see doesnt bother them.
  4. Just popped out for the last hour in the chilly wind for a recce to see if any bucks knocking about ready for April. Quite surprisingly I saw 8 roe including 3 bucks . I havent shot any does off this farm this season so looked for a doe follower. Right on last knockings found what I was looking for and had a great stalk in on this barren doe ?
  5. Brilliant mate, have you got Reds near you?
  6. I agree much rather be outdoors than stuck inside ? I think of it as reconnaissance as I have booked an appointment with the clean 6 pointer come April ??
  7. Well no luck tonight, the chilly wind spoilt things. I did see 4 roe, 2 bucks and 2 does but no shot available. A cock pheasant emerged from the copse with 11 hens in tow...
  8. Chilly wind here mate , give it a bit longer then go walkabout.
  9. Well done , you think he would of smiled with it being his first ??
  10. Well the deer magnet popped out again this afternoon and grassed another barren doe. Headed to the leaward side of a copse to get shelter from the wind. Spied a spiker straight away and thought surely there must be a doe in cover. After 10 mins of watching she appeared but they both went back in to cover .I stalked up on them and the doe popped back out only 50 yds away , low neck shot dropped her. As I was dragging her back I spied another 5 in the grass field on last pic, 4 does 1 buck.
  11. Good luck this afternoon, I might pop out too seeing as it's nice weather ?
  12. The deer magnet ? was on the ground by 5.30 this morning and spotted Charlie straight away trotting along the edge of a wood but too dark to shoot and it was on a mission. Then I spied a buck who hopefully I will meet again in a few weeks time ? Watched a barn owl hunting before spotting 2 roe 500 yds away. I stalked in to around 100 yds and discovered it was a mature doe and follower so decided to take the follower but couldn't get a clear shot due to branches, patiently I waited until eventually she presented and job done. Lovely morning to be out ?
  13. That dog is a credit to you , certainly knows its job ?
  14. Be all the sweeter when you eventually grass one ? I do seem to attract deer for some reason ?
  15. Need to get a fallow Stav so that Longshanks can practice on that ?
  16. No point in using the Buttolo , save it for the rut. No need anyway as the bucks are very active in April and May marking their territories , you will find them wandering about no problem. Cant wait ?
  17. Last night I went up the Dale's to do a bit of rabbit control. It was dark and breezy so thought I would have a good night. Straight from the off though it was obvious it was going to be challenging, nothing liked the lamp and were on their toes. This meant for rangey shots and also quick snap shooting, having to follow them moving and if they stopped for a split second having to shoot. It was challenging and frustrating at the same time. Ended up with a decent bag considering ? Rabbits will be left to breed now and start shooting them again on Summer evenings.
  18. Pity you didnt get onto one, you need the deer magnet ??
