    Would still take the .243 mate...would hate to pass up a buck.

    Dont understand why you dont always take the .243 when theres a chance of roe. I would only take the .223 lamping.

    I always try and make things happen which has served me well on many an occasion, no point in wondering what if ?? I might try again local tonight ,luck will change eventually it always does ?

    Popped out this evening to try and open my buck account. Stalked the copse where I know an old buck frequents as I've seen him 3 times now. As I skirted the copse I spotted a doe coming through the cover with the buck in tow . I actually had the crosshairs on his neck but a farmer appeared in the next field on his quad checking the sheep and was directly behind the buck , so no shot on , the deer spooked and off they ran. As light was fading I spotted a young buck but he was inside a thick bush, against better judgement I had a shot as if you don't try you don't t get. Anyway my bullet struck

    Visited the drillings again today for a few hours , sick of this freezing North wind ?? Wish it would warm up. Anyway a few birds about but not really playing the game . One day it will come good hopefully one warm day ?

    Farmer rang to say drillings are in and crows on them so I went this afternoon in the freezing wind and not a bird to be seen ?. Seeing as I was there I decided to set up anyway and see what happens. Very slow afternoon but the birds that did come decoyed brilliantly and I shot well missing only 2 birds ?

    You can still shoot crows for the protection of endangered wild birds.

    It's not the fact of not eating them [BANNED TEXT], ammo companies will stop their manufacture and concentrate on alternatives.

    The world always moves on , lead will eventually be banned so will just have to accept it . I will continue using lead until that date and then see what alternatives are available at that time...copper etc. From everything I have read copper works fine on foxes and deer and the ammo industry is developing new stuff all the time. Copper bullets believe it or not do not bounce off foxes or deer ??

    Seeing as it was a lovely sunny day we had a family picnic up the moors which turned into a wildlife tour with me pointing out grouse, curlew, lapwing and rabbits to the dismay of the wife....? Spring was definitely in the air with rabbits chasing each other about all over....
