  1. Be interested to see your fox tally.
  2. Drop boxes are very efficient but expensive as you have to rabbit mesh the whole place. We used to have a farm in the Borders which had thousands of rabbits , the farmer put in loads of drop boxes but we used to empty them in the Summer releasing all the young rabbits ?
  3. Just wondered if any fellow hunters kept accurate records of quarry taken. I have always kept an accurate record as very interested in figures and how things change. I know FD might but anyone else rather than the usual pub talk...I've had millions ? Here's my figures : Fox 1444 Rabbit 14587 Brown Hare 1294 Blue Hare 59 Squirrel 542 Roe 966 Red 31 Sika 40 Fallow 41 CWD 15 Muntjac 47 Goat 12 Boar 2 I know a lot depends on which part of the country you live as regards animal population densities. Up here o
  4. Hes obviously not speaking as hasn't replied. Probably still plucking his pigeon ?
  5. Had a walk out myself this evening even though there was a chilly west wind. Didnt expect to see anything but saw 6 roe , no shots but I know where they are. Saw a little egret too , 1st on this farm. The strangest thing I saw though was the farmer feeding the orphan lambs . She had a goat tethered in a crush and put the lambs on her to feed , never seen or heard of that before. How about you Ben ?
  6. Out yesterday afternoon with my mate , me guiding and him shooting. 1st buck ran past us being chased by another buck , stopped at the wood edge and paid the price. 2nd buck right on last knockings.
  7. I shoot quite a few magpies on 1 farm , would love to run a Larsen but it's a 20 mile round trip and I wouldnt be able to check it daily.
  8. Too true...I removed a lot of foxes from a local farm where there was no hares and now there are plenty along with lapwing and curlew. Well done on your conservation efforts.
  9. Why you not out shooting anyway ?
  10. Kettle , pot , black ?? Chill out mate and stop arguing with everyone you will feel better for it ?
  11. You're not listening, I give up.. Nothing more to say ?
  12. Unowned big cats like leopard etc are just that a leopard not a feral cat. I will say it again a feral cat is an unowned domestic cat .
  13. Wrong mate Felidae is the family not the genus . If a leopard escaped from a zoo it doesnt suddenly become a feral cat its still a leopard. Anyway not arguing as they dont exist in the wild. Feral cats are unowned domestic cats ?
  14. Exactly this. Feral cats are unowned domestic cats Genus Felis which can legally be controlled. Other big cats Leopard,Lion,Tiger and Jaguar Genus Panthera cannot be legally controlled. Bit it's all hearsay and irrelevant anyway seeing as they dont exist in the wild in the UK.
