  1. I think best option would be to save the extra and go for the pulsar digi sight. I used one briefly and was impressed with it. They get great reviews in all mags.
  2. Just wondering what a coterminous certificate is, are firearms licenses are different in n Ireland
  3. I had called out to one of my permissions about 4 weeks ago to zero my .223 and test some home loads. When i arrived the farmer next to my permission was about half way through cutting silage in the field next to the area i use as a range. Not wanting to cause any ill feelings i left the rifle in the jeep and took my GWP bitch for a run up the hill. I was sitting at the top of the hill on the edge of my permission when another farmer that i had been wanting to ask for permission stopped to open a gate. I got talking to him and told him that i shoot foxes on this land but often see foxes moving
  4. Do you still have the box etc for the camera
  5. A few mates and myself are thinking of heading over to them for a day, has anyone been there and if so what did you think. Is it good value for money keith
  6. Agreed clint a bit of a difference but I shoot a 223 in between as well.
  7. Matt I find the quality good for the price everything looks to be well enough engineered. I spent alot of money on the marlin trying to get it to the stage that I liked it. Out of the box the cz is good. I must keep in mind the legal thing the next time he plays cowboys and Indians with his .50 cal
  8. Received my fac back today ond on one off for a hmr, I went for the cz american . Very pleased with it so for, it is well made for the money, shoots great out of the box. My 10 yr son was shooting 3/4" groups at 70m. Also got a 6.5 55 added for deer at the same time, I went for sauer 202 in wood
  9. Look at the pulsar digi sight , it may do your job
  10. i was shooting on a golf course last week, things were slow until 0700 when the greenkeepers started to cut the fairways etc, once they started using the mowers the rabbits basically switched off and allowed me to get easily within air rifle range, i shot more rabbits in 30mins when the mowers and tractors where in use than i did the previous 2 hrs. keith
  11. 21-24 is a rough guide maybe typo
  12. Totally agree a pocketfull of calls is a good idea, but if he don't want to cone in he won't.
  13. Yeah it's fac, one if the first rapids so it is 22ft lbs, just got it back from theoben and they say it can't be set higher due to the older model of barrel. As mentioned it's zeroed at 50m and I find it ok for my shooting. I av .17hmr and other rifles if I need extra range. I will try a few different types of pellets to see what perform better. Thanks for the replies
  14. Had a good morning with rapid 7 on golf course. 21 bunies , 1grey squirel and one mag pie . Using a mk1 rapid that I have for 19yrs. Still going strong zeroed at 50m. What pellets do you favour for .22 at 22 ft/lbs looking sobering hard hitting and good quality , I get a lot of skirt damage with aa pelets.
  15. I had a chance to try the pulsar digisite 550 last week and if I had a spare grand I would buy one in the morning. If you can get one in the states at a good price I don't think you will not go far wrong. Keith
  16. Good shot 193 yrds. Sometimes hard to find if they dont drop on the spot. I am running on a gwp for that reason, I hope to use her for stalking as well. Keith
  17. i use a .223 with a T8 mod, depending on the surroundings you are shooting there are some shots that are very quiet and others that can be very loud. I have fired from a stationary vechile out of very open bog land and to be honest you wouldnt have heard the shot. Other areas especially along a tree line or fence line and you would have swore it was a .50 cal going off. I tend to view the .223 as a one or a two shot rifle, i personally dont hunt rabbits at night with it where you could quite easily be firing 3-4 shots in a reasonably short space of time. With foxes you fire a shot and then it
  18. Maybe if they shot each other it would be natures way of reducing retards, let's face it the girls aren't really ozing intelligence either. I guess that's what happens when cousins marry
  19. Thanks sam, can u post contact details, Keith
  20. I was begining to think that you men were like the pied piper for foxes and all our fixes were heading south. I get more foxes in a night with you guys than 2 months on my own permissions. We are out tomorrow night after the rabbits and will definately get a chance to test mates pulsar digiscope. I will give you a shout Wednesday for a catch up. If you can get off Monday or Tuesday night next week we can visit the guy I was telling you about they seem to be causing damage in the day as well.
  21. hi I am looking to find a replacement foreend for a berretta 687 shotgun, does anyone know any gunsmiths or dealers that can supply one. thanks keith
  22. Basically you get two wooden clothes pegs and tape them flat side to flat, you put a piece of video tape in between the two pegs to create a sort if reed. It is easy to blow and I find if you leave a few mill of a gap you can vary the pitch by bitting on the pegs. I posted from an iPhone so I am not sure how to upload.
  23. Last night I got out for a shine, you got to hate the light evenings. Was trying an assortment of different calls including electronic. The one that worked best last night was the old clothes peg and tape method. A dog fox came into within 100m before 60gr v-max put his lights out.
