  1. That's your best option try one first and make your own Mind up. We borrowed one for a week and I think for a rimfire it would good but a longer ranges it didn't seem up to the job.
  2. I have found that the foxes dig more around the bunkers etc and can cause as much damage scratching for worms and bettles . They also tend to shit in the bunkers which the golfers complain about.
  3. Hi John I should be able to get a go with the longer range version of the nd3 when you are up in a few weeks. I cant remember the exact model of the unit
  4. I left out having three points for speeding approx 13 yrs ago on my last application , the flo asked me why I didn't list it, I explained it had just slipped my mind. To avoid delay I would contact them and mention it
  5. It would be a good idea to say the pin broke while shooting the shotgun and not dry firing , you dont want to give them any excuse not to stand over the gun.

  7. I had a 2 yr old mastiff that I hunted with, he tore his cruiate ligament. A local greyhound vet replaced the ligament for a very reasonable price. Yhe dog although not as active as a gundog was very active and didn't suffer any further problems. Keith
  8. I got mysel upf early this morning and headed out to zero a couple of rifles and test a few loads. After I zeroed my centre fire rifles I got the hmr out to finish off the morning. The fourth round went click with no bang , I waited a few seconds then opened the bolt and the round ejected. After looking around the firing spot I couldn't find the misfired round only empty cases. I thought at this stage that I must have loaded a case and not a live round. The fifth round wouldn't allow the bolt to fully close so I removed the bolt to find the barrel blocked. The misfire was a dud round, when th
  9. I asked recently about the foxpro spitfire and the replies were good
  10. How do u find it for charlie, when u buy it do u get access to foxpro's website for other downloadable calls Keith
  11. Ive got one, what a bargain! I use it on my .308win and my .204 ruger. For the money you cant beat it, James is a great bloke to deal with. As you say, to change the threads takes no time at all, its fully stripable and well made. I couldnt recommend more sounds good to me, i will buy another mod at the start of next year as i am heading back over to WMS and i dont want to have to change moderators between rifles while shooting on the range. What price did you pay for yours. keith
  12. when over at the midland game fair i had a good look at the Jtec moderators. they looked to be well made and a very flexible design. you can change the threaded receiver to suit different screw cut threads and you can also change the number of baffles inside the mod. When i go for another mod i will look very seriously at these mods. has anyone experience good or bad of these mods, i have a business card somewhere that i will post if i can find it. keith
  13. I had a t8 on my 223 and as it was proofed for .30cal I simply move it on to my 6.5 when using it. It works quite well although a bit on the heavy side. Probably wouldn't buy nod specifically for 6.5 but it definately does my job. Price about 250 ish, Keith
  14. Had a chat with Robert bucknell at the midland gamefair on sat. He came across as a good down to earth guy. Really enjoyed the show but still suffering from two days on the rip
  15. I recently changed a 17 marlin for a cz. Right from the start i struggled with the rifle, I changed the trigger to a rifle basic kit as the factory trigger was heavy. It would shoot two rounds touching and the third or fourth could be 2" off. I am no marksman but I expect better results. I stripped it down to make sure nothing was loose etc but it all looked fine. To cut a long story short I got rid of it and I find the cz twice the rifle as my marlin. Hopefully you get it sorted and enjoy your marlin Keith
  16. Due to the processing time for applications, a lot of dealers are asking for money up front which will be returned if fac refused. Deposits are not uncommon here.
  17. Maplins generally carry most types of electronic connectors
  18. lesson learned, i bought a harris type bipod from ebay recently to mount on an air rifle. i know the bipod was an imitation of the harris swivel bipod and i expected to get what i paid for which was $60 from hong kong. Within five minutes of mounting on the rifle the bipod broke at the joint between the swivel barrel and the foreend mount. the best the seller will do is offer a $10 credit for more sub standard kit. in the end the decision is yours but i would warn you not to purchase one of these bipods from woofeiwing via ebay, it could put the dampers on a days hunting.
  19. I used an exhust rubber Mounting and three garden poles but after using a proper adjustable tripod for the last few months I prefer the adjustable tripod not a diy job
  20. as one of the previous posts stated when you apply for the moderators, say that you want them to prevent disturbance to livestock and also for hearing protection.
  21. very much so, there is an on going debate on cleaning or not cleaning the hmr. in your case it was different as the reason was spraying after getting the rifle wet. like mentioned always run a few swabs through the barrel before hunting with it to remove excess oil. it could take about 4-5 shots to bring the poi back after cleaning etc keith
  22. Nightvision from the forum uses a .204 to great effect on foxes. I use a 223 and either round drops them on the spot if the right adddress is put on them.
  23. I just changed a marlin 17hmr for a cz, I spent a lot of money on the marlin trying to get it as I wanted only to give up and get a cz. Out of the box it is great I am sure the 22 will be similar, good luck with your choice
  24. There are some complete deals on new cz rifles for 499 in the sporting rifle. I would go that route
