The trouble if i join another forum is it will be alot more time on the laptop, whereas i can kill 2 birds with 1 stone here ( pardon the punn ) by getting my hunting fix and photography ' coaching ' all in 1 place I'll keep at it with the camera settings and advice i've been given and see how i can improve The other set of pics http://s1178.photobucket.com/albums/x372/blackstaff2/Devils%20Dyke%20Feb%2011/?albumview=slideshow
  5. Cheers Romany I think its just a case of getting out there with the info people have given me, the manual for quick referance and taking as many pic's as i can
  6. I've also heard that if you use your ferts they become nasty little blighters after being used for rats ? Personally i'd use a smoker
  7. Thanks for all your help guy's I feel like i'm cheating a little and having a free crash course in photography I took the camera out again today and took some pic's i'm pretty happy with. Don't want to keep posting them nd boring you all with them though :lazy:
  8. Hi Romany, none of the pics from the second set have been touched up at all. I have checked in my Shooting menu and there is no picture control setting menu ? Maybe i'm not looking in the right place Here are 3 pics which i think are not quite right, the first 2 are imo too dark, the 3rd slightly out of focus. Thanks for all your help
  9. Sod that for a laugh !! Cracking pic's as allways
  10. Muttlemct - I haven't yet calibrated lens to camera I was hoping to get a decent 70/300vr but just cant justify the money atm after buying the camera and a new 18/105vr ' ..so it must be either your lense, settings or technique.. ' OR ME !! Which is more than likely as i know the camera is great, and i am not . . . . . . . . yet A few ( 70+ )that i took yesterday with the settings recommended by Romany, using my the new 18/105vr lens I have deleted alot of what i took, i would say 50% because they were still to dark or very slightly out of focus as some of these are but not as b

  16. Hi all, as a few of you know i've been on the lookout for a new camera for a while and finally managed to get it this week I used to have the Nikon D40 which is very user friendly and easy to use so stayed with Nikon as i know a few people with them and never heard a bad word about them . I knew the D200 would be a big jump up but didn't realise how much different it would be I knew it would be more advanced with settings and the like but for some reason thought it still had the dial where i could put it on auto then ease in to it all gently !! I have had a quick read through the manual
  17. Cheers for a good day mate, we both enjoyed ourselves too A few bits Tyla missed out on were the anti wanting to take pic's of my ferts, but could my boy hold them still and make them pose for the camera :11: The lady landowner bringing us coffee and very nice chocolate biscuuits to where we were ferreting The Lady who's garden we done wants me to go back and shoot more rabbits as soon as we can, i explained that i'd like to wait till its a bit warmer with some more hours of light and go up with my son and his rifle too . ' Oh that would be lovely, thank you ' was her reply, brillian
  18. Have you still got the long nets mate ? Pm me if you like
  19. Cracking pic's, really like the first one, brilliant
  20. I've had a rapid mk1 and recently got a new r-10. Personally a didn't like the rapid, seemed a little clunky and too mechanical for me Been through a few more guns sinc then but i really like my r10. Athstecicly( ? ) its very nice to look at and it all seems to be very smooth working. The only thing i don't like too much with the B.S.A. is the magazines, the loading takes some getting used to I keep touching the recoil lever and pinging back a pellet !! Edited to say Zini - Water Badger was probably trying to zero his gun after a few of his home brew ales, hence the lack of consist
