  5. As soon as the pup is ready to have a go matie, ferreting is easy but dont rush, this from what Ive been told could spoil the dog, but on the other hand is there a substitute for early success, good dogmen seem to get this balance right, us mere mortals seem to have to work at it..One thing I never do is set an age for a pup to start..

  8. It certainly has become more popular over the years as there is now a greater awareness of wildlife and the environment, starting with kids at school, excellent programs on the subject, magazines etc..this will increase, it is so media friendly..and wildlife photography and videos will increase as recording technologies improve..Scotland for example has a far greater income with wildlife related holidays, visitors and photographers than what it has in revenue income from hunting..Hunting oportunities are being replaced with photography opportunities in a lot of areas and countries, where peopl
  9. Thanks for the comments..they are a fair way off, but estimate about 30-50 yards..they are being monitored by our local wildlife trust, and with them being schedual 1 birds your not allowed to disturb their nesting sites..anybody got a 600mm f4 that would be handy

  17. Thanks for the comments guys..and as a point of interest, I entered it into the Children in need calander for 2012, and it won so it will be the photo image on the Sprng (April) page next year, for anyone living in the north east, it will be featured on Look North this Monday..so buy one when they come out, a right worthy cause
  18. I had a one stolen by some wankers from Ashington..that was bad enough, but later when I found out who had taken her, people that used to come to my house, some that had dinner with me knew about it..
  19. All the best ones Ive had or seen were between 23-26inches, but I worked with Axel from the Lurchermaina videos, and although his owner prefered catching other things with him, I saw him take into the 30`s he was just over 30 inches.
