Ive always had bitches, and have NEVER laid one up because of being in season, having to do that was set up by part time hunters and one for the pot men so they could have some time off to go out dancing or other things they are probably more suited to..

I personally always choose dogs. I find that bitches can be a bit too headstrong and have a tendancy to work by their own rules. Dogs are far more biddable and submissive although they can be a bit more on the stupid side and require a bit more patience in the training stages. Think you should read another book mate, youve got it the wrong way round

I have a 1.4 on my Nikon set up,and coupled up with my 300mm lense its incredible sharp, and AF works fine..I had a bigma on the same camera, and the 300mm + converter produces far better images. Yes Ive lost a stop, but my camera is designed to give good results in low light, the results speak for themselves..the second robin isnt bad for what your using, and for early attempts Because of where and in the way canon converters are mounted, image quality sharpness and contrast will be affected with all but the best lenses, and loosing 2 stops is a lot for most lenses. To get the best results

Well its hardly rocket science is it, behind lamping rabbits it the easist thing for a lurcher to do..I know boys who have had just as many ferreting with their dogs, as they have had lamping..any dog will take rabbits ferreting
