  1. Redpolls great little birds and will breed in cages and will nest in almost anything
  2. an how did yous prefer them bred?? 1/2 x to a 1/2 cross maybe??? or was it more collie lurcher to deerhound lurcher?? My first was was from a first cross deerhound x greyhound bred by a guy in Burnley in the 70`s, and put to a collie cross lurcherxlurcher, I picked the smallest bitch from the litter, she was 23 and a half inches and remains the BEST all round lurcher bitch Ive owned, or seen. Some breedings when cross breeding just work better than others, this is one of those crosses that consistantly work..If I was starting again, I wouldnt fear getting a pup from a first cros
  3. Nice bitch, I bred one just like her, at 7th generation
  4. Some good images there matie, very well done for getting into a position to get them..
  5. These in my eyes are the best dog ever for all round hunting, I had similar way bred lurchers for many, many years, the animals I had you just couldnt sicken, a profit hunters dream, start early, work till old age hunted them every week of the month every month of the year with hardly ever a sick note to stop them..Mint cross
  6. Ive eaten loads, cant beat a milky doe with mixy, yummy
  7. Cheers lads..and lasses No undisputed never seen any..theyve been there every day inbeween me being there, a friend of mine got some crackers recently same place, Ive spent over 20hs up to this point, looks like its going to be alot more, going before and after work each day....but hopefully they will come.
  8. Was out today for kingfishers but this guy came out the reed beds..
  9. Farmers definately shoot dogs, seen a farmer Mr C at Pigdon Northumberland shoot a dog with a 243, the dog ran around the field for ages with its bottom jaw hanging off, before another shot finished it off, a gamekeeper also from Northumberland Cristen Bank near Seahouses Mr DB shot double figures of dogs, and a lad Mr A in Bedlington Northumberland got shot in the leg with a .22 rim fire while out on the land with his dog, and the farmer got off with it..in this country the more money you have the more justice you get, and farmers usually have a lot more in their bank accounts than Mr Lurcher
  10. some kind of mutation I would think hon..Ive seen pure white wild bullfinches, a pure white woodpecker, a jackdaw that was almost getting close to white, and when I was ringing I saw a corrected ID down as a snow bunting and it was a white chaffinch, and in captivity through selective breeding weve seen every colour mutation imaginable..
  11. Some good images there matie, the colour seems different to your other pics, have you been doing anything with settings?
  12. so that would be 15 generations? the reason i asked is there some gypsies by me that often have pups out of their lurchers for sale at the side of the road,it just made me wonder how long they've been breeding them. Yeah, but the middle 7 generations were the best, if they are Gypsies, believe half what they tell you and thee quarters of what they show you with regards to the dogs they have, ha, ha
  13. Some nice pics..bringing back the erge..
  14. Ok..I got a bitch from a fourth generation lurcher to lurcher line, took the breed another 7 generations lurcher to lurcher, and the line has went another 4 generations in the hands of one guy that I know of, maybe not as many as some that others may know of, but quite a long line never the less, going back to the 70`s
  15. Another possible one of those set up to be shot down posts I feel..A few waiting in the wings with their keyboard fingers at the ready..six names at the bottom of this thread, no replies..definate trap..
  16. What a great capture..well done to your mate..
