Today my Jill's litter of 4 ferrets opened their eyes for the first time and were having some fun running about the hutch, upon closer inspection it turns out that 2 are true albinos and 2 have black eyes and are a off white sandy colour, her first litter this year all the babies had black eyes and were the same off white sandy colour, she was mated with the same hob as the first litter which is a true albino and my jill is a black eyed white, i've never come accross this before, has anyone else???? also before i post in the ferrets for sale section if anyone is interested in some late breds t

  8. "ANY" dog will be a good marker providing it has a bit of common sense and a nose, My flat coated retriever used to be a gundog but took to ferreting probably beter than he was a retriever LOL

He is doing well mate, still confined to his wheelchair but physio is going well, I'm on my holidays now that I booked ages ago so we could get out ferreting but sadly it wasn't to be. Last season we saw a ferret down one of the sets we were working, it even had a collar on but we couldn't get it out, it just stood it's ground and our ferrets wouldn't shift it, we have also seen stoats but couldn't get anywhere near to do anything about it.   13. From what you describe a ferreting partner is going to be your best bet, not just for the ferreting but also if god forbid anything was to happen to you while you're out
  14. dont worry about it mate, it will be your t.v or other electrical stuff interfeering with it. it should work fine when you get out in the field. that is a VERY valid point, they pick up allsorts in the house
