Thanks Andy!! Hope to see you soon you great twit... Just give me a shout Honestly though, joking aside, think about what I've just said.

With the money you two keep on throwing at kit, bite the bullet and get a Leopold, Meopta or S&B. Do a factory order and have them parallax set to 35 meters!!! Edit to add ... Zeiss do some nice optics too

Unless someone's fitted something daft to it, the spring will be under very little pre-load in a TX, they're good like that!! As above, they're a very easy gun to work on if you've got a reasonable bit of mechanical knowledge.

bsa ultra for hunting

http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/topic/223226-standard-bsa-ultra-test/ Have a look at this and welcome to the forum -
Nicely done, Si, looks like you're enjoying your time off!! Here's a sugestion for you if you're after a compact scope for LJ's Ultra. JSR do a cracking little 2-7x32IR, very clear optics, compact size, generic mil-dot ret. It's the scope I had on my 52 when you came over to Simon's if you remember. I also have a Simmons 1.5-5x32 on my Ratty and that's a cracking little scope, but maybe not enough mag for HFT and also it's 30-30 ret is quite thick. It's a great little field sight but maybe not too well suited to target shooting.

I know exactly what Tony's saying about some mil-dot rets, and especially those bloody ladder type things, they just make my eyes go funny and I find I'm trying to rely on the bloody dots and crap instead of trusting my own judgement. I've tried them and whilst I can just about get on with basic generic mil-dot rets I still prefer a good old 30-30 any time. Edit to add..... Oh yes, caliber. It doesn't really matter. Personally I mainly use .20 but I also shoot .22 and .177. As has been said many times before it's all about putting the shot in the right place

It's a bit like comparing shit with champagne -
Good post, Rake, and a sentiment I agree with. I'm English as I was born here. My Dad's families catholic Irish and my ex wife's Welsh although I don't hold it against Wales for her I can't understand why some folks keep on dragging up things from our past historys and taking any and every chance to throw them at other folks. We, the normal working class British are not guilty of what any of our past leaders did to further their own ambitions or agendas. Yes it can be argued that as an alleged democracy 'we' voted them in but it goes back much further than democracy in these debates,

I had an many moons ago that was also a bit pellet fussy. It too shot well with the Super H Points and FTTs. It also shot very well with (wait for the boo's.... ) RWS Super Points. I know pointed pellets are generally frowned upon accuracy wise and I agree, most are crap, but Super Points flew very well out of mine

Air rifle maintenance question
andyfr1968 replied to Docherty's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
wd40 is water based and makes it worse and doesnt protect 3in1 is the way forward is it realy i use it all time and it never dose my gun no harm it dose say on the can drives out moister lol I allways used it my self mate and then some one told me so I looked it up and its seems to be right so I just opt for the 3 in 1 now just to be on the safe side. think i might now lol thanks pal WD's not water bassed, it's a kerosene based carrier with silicon as a lube. It's not best for metal to metal lubrication as it's so thin and silicon's a rubbish metal to metal lube. It's very -
I've used both (never owned either though...) and for me there's no better, only different. Both properly first class springers. Just to add another slant, have you tried the Diana 54? For me it's the best steel springed rifle available, followed very closely by the 52.

Edit............. WTF's wrong with my 'poota or THL?? Tried to edit the above post and it won't let me.... And why the feck are there 'emoticons still here?????

I'm guessing a bit here as I've never tried to set up a scope cam and I have only a small amount of experience with PCPs but the little bit I have and also from reading about folks dealings with them on here, any change of balance on a gun can affect POI, as well as the scope's set up. The only pre charge I've owned was an AA410c ( lovely rifle ) and when I binned the AA mod in favour of an HW one, the POI was out by a couple of inchs at my 25 yard zero range They may not recoil much, but just like a springer, the gun does move before the pellet's left the pointy end. Bloody airguns!

What's this thing with washers in springers? It's a load of old bollox. You've not changed the amount of power in the spring in any way, all that happens is that the pre-load is increased and that does not affect power at all. What does happen very often however, is that the trigger doesn't engage properly. If it's shooting better it's down to the fact the gun's been stripped, cleaned and re-lubed. mate.

What have the English ever done for for us?

It's been pretty light hearted for the most part, mate. Have a read before jumping to conclusions, just banter -
What a shame, very sad indeed. He would have been one to watch in the future. R.I.P. Marco.

Watch Dynamo. That lad's very good. I'd really love to have an insight as to how the hell that stuff works. The illusions are amazing.

Gay, straight or messed up Italian food, however he does what he does is very clever.

Ah. Is he really gay or has he just made you think he is?

This may sound like a daft question, but if you've got a 60 in bits then why not put if back together? They're not a bad rifle and plenty good enough for knocking about on a farm.
