I've had a Luger 3-9x42 scope on my 52 for the past couple of years and I'm just wondering what the ret's called? I'm happy with the scope but after reading through some recent threads, I'm just wondering It's not important and I've no complaints, just curious. The best way I can describe it is it's very much like a normal 30-30 but the 12 o'clock post is the same thin line all the way up..... Cheers.

I'd say you've got to put the ball in his court, he must have an idea as to how much he wants for it... Take a look on the for sale section on here, use the search function and have a look on the BBS site too to see what they're going for then take it from there.

Nice one, Scott, I'll get my mate with the FAC 52 a shout so as we can try them too I've not seen those before.

Thanks for the replies, lads One thing I will add is the gun's not been messed around with, that's what a standard full power 52 is ment to make so it's not over-sprung and it shoots very nicely with no more recoil than most 'normal' springers. I think 15 grains is a bit much for a springer, Clubshot but my mate's just ordered some 10.5 grain Premiers so we'll see how they go when they arrive. I'm surprised that the Dynamics don't work in my mate's gun as they work very well indeed in mine. Funny things, airguns.... Cheers.

Needles!!!! I even became a blood doner to try and get over it but I still pass out if I need and injection. Wierd....

My little lass isn't allowed to use social networking sites, but i know what you mean about growing reliance on computers. That's pretty much why we bought her a dirt bike for christmas. She never looks at the computer/Wii when she gets home now....she just gets her kit on, and goes mud plugging in the field Yup, my boys use it sometimes to catch up with their mates but thankfully they've got better things to do for the best part I've got to say though, if I'd got girls I don't know if I'd feel the same way...

For strapping to be any benefit it needs to be tight.....and being tight around the chest restricts breathing meaning its harder to take those deep breaths in i was on about. That's what they did to me when I broke them as a lad. It feckin' hurt, I remember that much but at least I was lucky 'cos it wasn't bad breaks either time and they healed fast.

You'll never read a bad review on any gun in a mag, Aaron, they're all too frightened about p*ssing off the manufactures or importers. If they do, they'll loose advertising revenue and they can't afford to do that with such a small market... Take all the 'reviews' you read in the mags with a very big pinch of salt The airgun press is just like all the other press, it's paid for and if they p*ss off the pay masters someone will pull the plug. thats true, but results are results and the FPS variaation was remarkable for a gas ram rifle. also the groups at 35yrds would challenge pcp'

Fair comment, Matt, I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on this The Sirroco was a lovely gun in it's day but they did kick a bit. Beautifully made though... Very well screwed together..

I was wondering if it may be velocity related, Ghillies, as I know it's around the trans-sonic area and funny things can happen to a projectile at those kind of speeds If we can't find a pellet that works the way the gun is now, I'll start taking coils off the spring one at a time and keep on testing with a lower power... Cheers.

He already has one but on one of his shoots there's a footpath issue, so they'd only pass the land for airgun. You're dead right though, power's feckin' useless if you can't put it in the right place

Thanks, Sureshot, we've not tried those yet. I had a 52 on ticket in .22 many moons back and Premiers were the only pellet it liked. I'll tell him to have a look on ebay

Thanks, Simon and Millsy. Sorry, lads, editted to add it's a Diana 52 It's an odd one this, we did some testing on it today with Baracudas, Dymnamic TM1s (which my own 52 loves...) and JSB Exact 8.44 grain.... Over a ten shot string the JSB's averaged 1092 FPS, 22.35ft'lbs, Dymnamics 944 @18.8, Baracudas 907 @ 19.44. There was no more than 12 FPS difference between any of the individual strings. All of the heavier pellets group OK for plinking but not anywhere near what I'd call well enough for field use, around 2 to 3 inchs at around 50 yards but their flightpath is at least

Thanks, Lads but the Mags are exactly the same as the Baracudas we've tried and the gun just doesn't seem to like them at all

Hi, folks. Does anyone have any exprience with .177 guns running at around 22ft-lbs?? A mate of mine recently got his FAC changed with a slot for airguns added and I'm trying to help him set up his rifle. The problem we're having is finding a suitable pellet. We've tried all the useual suspects, RWS, AA, H and N etc and what we're finding is that they're all fine up to around 30 yards and then the groups start to fall to bits, by the time they're out past 40-45 yards, they've all opened up from around half an inch to anything up to 4 inchs... All the pellets we've tried are mi

Generally brown in colour and make some very nice spicey food.....

Hey andy, just because you spelt humble wrong dosent mean you can get out of it on a technicality lol Ya bugger, I thought no one would notice.... A-hem....

Hi, mate. They're Chineese built lemons tarted up for fat Yanks, cheap enough but not screwed together very well. If you like the idea of a gas-ram then go for the HW90, it's the best on the market by a mile and there's a few kicking around used, a mate of mine got one a few months ago with a decent scope and a mod for £150 from a lad on here. Cheers. Edit to say... I use a 90 myself and it's as good now as when I first got it 12 years ago.

I suffered broken ribs a couple of times as a lad falling off skateboards and it hurt like hell at first, really debilatating They only took a couple of weeks or so to heal but as I said, I was only a lad and you do heal a lot better when you're young. Just don't push yourself, Jasp, it's so easy to damage them again.

IF I'm wrong then I'll eat all of the hunble pie not just a slice!!!! Watch this space, I guess...

Please keep us posted on the family front, Davy... I may have my two boys with me, 9 and 12 and they're very used to shooting and all that goes with it I have them every second weekend but it's a fairly loose arrangement with their mum, so planning ahead can be a right pain.... Cheers. -
