  1. I'm glad you got it all sorted, Davy. Sorry I didn't get your message in time
  2. Erm... Yeah... It's always good to listen to a well reasoned debate...
  3. Don't forget to take your permission letter, will you....
  4. Or you could ask your dad, surely he can fix anything...??
  5. Yup, as above I've never owned a 54 but they really are a lovely gun to shoot and built to last a lifetime. I'm on my second 52 at the moment after having sold my first one many years ago and regretted it ever since. I found a replacement a couple of years back and I'll not part with this one. The only thing I'd add to what Simon has already said regards the scope rail.... They are a little on the short side but unless you're a funny shape ( ) and need to mount your scope in an extreme position to get the correct eye relief, it should't be a problem. Also, whilst they don't have
  6. Two questions... Do you need to shoot moveing targets and is property damage an issue?
  7. I know what you mean, Simon and this is a good example of how different guns of the same type prefer one pellet over another... My shot very well with S Domes but your's doesn't and an old mate of mine's TX did but your's does not.... Funny things, airguns It boils down to the bit of advice that comes up on here so often..... Not all guns like the same ammo, you've just got to try as many types as you can and see what works best in YOUR own gun. Cheers.
  8. Hi, mate. I've not got a clue about the Stealth and I'm pretty much clueless about dogs and I don't live any where near you... However, welcome to the forum, I love off roading and I hope your youngest enjoys the sport I'm teaching my own boys to shoot too, so maybe we'll have some stories to tell They'll always be someone on here who can help.... Cheers
  9. Cracking gun, mate, good luck with the sale
  10. The .22 Superdome is 14.3 grains and, being 1.7 to 2 grains lighter, it will be liable to stability issues due to fit in the breech. In otherwords, it will possibly skew in flight and "shotgun" all over your target.Quote, Pianoman That's more to do with head size, Simon, rather than weight. If the head of the pellet does not grip the rifleing properly then it will tend to destabalise in flight and the longer the range, the worse this will be. Super Domes are an old design now but they do seem to be one of those pellets that work very well in a wide variety of barrels. I used to use the
  11. Is that a public right of way in the background? That was the problem we had with our's, some idiots from the village could see it when the leaves were down and thought it great fun to wreck it. Tossers...
  12. Same here in Leeds. Feckin' stuff....
  13. Oh god, there's so much mileage in that I'm not even going to start!!!! I'm sorry, Froggy, I'm a sick little puppy at heart but I am nice really...
  14. Nice one, Aaron!! Shame about your last dog, sorry... Any chance of a Yorkie bespoke gimp mask??
  15. Oh god, yes!! It's important at this time of year 'cos there's no leaves
  16. I know what you mean though, Froggy, I've always got loads of crap kicking around in the car
  17. I know what you mean Andy, I joined this place when it was a darn right thoroughly nasty place to be and I limited my input and question answering because the Cock's ruled the Roost so to speak. Different now, its much more relaxed and friendly even when someone tries to cause trouble, we generally get shut of em fast To answer your question though; I can't; sorry I won't say who or why; as I have been asked not to by them and my promise/word means a hell of a lot to me and I will never knowingly or deliberately betray a trust that someone has placed in me, I'm just not like that. I un
  18. Bloody hell, mate, are you going for a mooch or a one man overland trip across Africa?? One thing's for sure, you'll not be wanting for kit. Apart from the obvious gun, pellets, etc.... I always carry a good knife, twine for carrying game, phone (on silent...), fags and a Zippo and thats pretty much it. I just make sure I'm dressed for the weather, then off I trot. Cheers
  19. Hi, mate. One thing you may want to consider is if you're plinking you'll most likely be putting quite a few pellets down range and Co2 soon mounts up cost wise... Cheers.
  20. I understand exactly what you're saying, Si. Family is the most important thing of course, most folks don't have the amount of free time that I enjoy and when I've not got my sons with me, the laptop tends to chug away in the background while the telly grumbles away in the corner. I work for myself from home and the 'poota's pretty much always on. Rock and roll.... I was just wondering who of the other regulars were thinking of packing up and why?
  21. Who else is thinking of leaving and why?? Family is fair enough, I don't have that problem the whole time though... This place has had it's ups and downs in the time I've been here but of late it's settled in to a nice place to be, it'd be a real shame to loose any of the regulars and have it turning back to pissing contests and micky takeing that's gone on before... Cheers
  22. That flooring puts to shame the job some cowboys did in the kitchen in my last house!!! Cracking looking bit of kit you've built there, fellas
