  1. We always carry long nets in the 4x4 when ferreting they are invaluable trammel nets hold the rabbits even better than long nets when they hit a trammel net they aint getting out gives you plenty of time to get to them good luck mate
  2. mixy rabbits will not hurt your ferrets but personaly i don't feed them to mine i would rather feed pigeon crow road kill or good quality dry food then mixy rabbits the state of them with green puss al round there eyes etc looks bad enough to look at can you imagine eating it UUURG could cut the head off i suppose
  3. Have any net makers tried the loomis norwegian net needle ? I tried one but found it more fidderly than the normal type i know they hold more twine but i personaly couldn't get on with it i have 13 of the normal type that i load up with twine in one go so i can just tie on a new needle as needed i liked the idea of the loomis but its not for me doe's anyone prefere the loomis ??

  5. We do a lot of ground for the national trust and the sussex wildlife trust but never been offered tea and cake you jammy git LOL good luck with it mate they are agood organisation to have under your belt
  6. As already said by seany agouti does the best 1"rings i have used at a good price too regards drawcord i have always used 3mm drawcord on my purse nets i find that little bit extra weight helps keep the nets better in place when the ferrets are walking through them but that is only a personal oppinion the norm is 2mm cord
  7. this time of year mate it's quite ferrets to lose hair 2 of my jills tails are compleatly bald this happens most summers but it does grow back in the autum
  8. when we give them dry food we use use one of the chrome dog food bowles they they don't tend to turn that one over
  9. Sounds like you touched a raw nerve mate something don't seem quite right there but then who are we to be sitting hear wrighting and slagging people off just because you havan't received your nets you paid good money for
  10. They will if pressured enough by the ferrets but othertimes they wont budge and would rather face the ferret than bolt so why give yourself grief for the sake of being quite as you can when netting up ie try not to talk dont smoke and be as light footed as you can on the burys it all can help dramaticly to successfull bolting GOOD LUCK MATE
  11. One of my golden rules mate for a successfull days ferreting is when netting up be as quiet as possible
  12. we use the NGO national gamekeepers organisation been with the since they formed £30 a year it insures you for 10 million quid personaly i would never shoot without insurance most my permissions insist on it and rightly so
  13. No not found that as yet we went out last wednesday and got 14 and they all bolted very easy ? the time we seem to find rabbits are hardest to bolt when there is heavy snowfall or when the doe's are full of young at the end of the ferrreting season they just dont seem to want to come out thats when we normaly call time on that ferreting season
  14. great pics mate love the sandy laying down with the full belly
  15. I totally agree as well as trammel and hemp long nets we have a 4z 25yd longnet and if a rabbit hits it they never seem to escape from it
  16. we did about 5 smallish burys so each fert gets a bit of a run the jack russell (ted) is coming on great he is nearly 2 and started to mark the holes iv got high hopes for him and the good thing is when he gets to a rabbit in the net he just puts his foot on it and is more intrested in sniffing it's ar*e then biting it not like my old jack who is dead now he was a nightmare if he got to it before you you were lucky if you got the skin out the net let alone the rabbit but i do miss the little sod REST IN PEACE GEORGE
  17. We dont tend to use nylon anymore but i think i still have 30ish 4ft 10z nylon ones in a bag somewhere so i personaly would say if i used nylon again i would use 10z if i remember correctly bridport nets sells them in yellow or they used to ??? why not try some spun poly nets mate
  18. hi joe always take a min of 6 ferrets coz 99% of our permissions we can drive round so its not like we have to lug all the gear across the fields THANK GOD lol
  19. As said depends where we intend to ferret we always carry 50 ish but can lay my hands on about 200 nets if need be but to be honest after about 50 its out with the long nets
