well today saw us away settig newly spun snares out along some fences where the rabbits are travelling from the wood edge into the fields to feed these snares were spun last night and were catching after being set for less than a few hours. once again this has proved that new snares allthough more visable to two legged moochers do not deter rabbits a few picture from today after we had finished setting i went back along the line to check and manged a few 23 in total and the snares are still down for tomorrow a quick check along the first fence produced these five nice big rabbits

My point was...people can tell someone something, disagree with someone, and even dislike someone without resorting to threats/bad language/rudeness and ignorance. I certainly will appologise, as i am becoming more and more embarrassed at the way so called fellow hunters conduct themselves. Wether you like it or not, it is a relection of hunters/forum members in general, since the only people replying to posts now are those who want to start an argument. My first ever post on a hunting forum about 10yrs ago was judged as being suspicious, i had never even heard of antis so did not real

Trapping Voles (Field Mice)
woodga replied to Steve Albano's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
good informative video clip powerful traps those victors keep the tips coming -
breakaways will work but when snaring on fences entanglement often occurs thus making the breakaway ineffective if the badger becomes entwined in a fence its unable to get full purchase and use its weight to burst the breakaway thats why we use them on open traill areas with no entanglement issues better not to chance the issue

that was a good day you lads had plenty of action well done everyone

if that badger run is on the same fence where those fox runs are you are looking for trouble , setting wires in any location where badgers are working is a no no better off taking the fox on an open trail with the snare loop set up high then if a badger walks along the run the head of the badger passes under the loop and hits his back avoiding a incidental catch , you are more likely to have an unwanted catch if you snare that fence not worth the risk imho

chears guys i have pmed woodga before but he said i had too buy 50 in one go and tealers were seprate only want a few... funny thing that i seem to sell quite a few orders under 50 and the tealers are only sold seperately when asked for by the client the cost of materials has rocketed and accordingly we have to increase our prices to suit but we still strive to give the best product available a min order of ten peg wires is what i work to add to this the cost of postage it makes sense to order a few and save on postage

transfer from the catch cage into the kill cage cleanly dispatch with a shot to the head several thousand squirrels killed and never once in danger of ever being bitten as you say each to their own i know i would rather removed a dead squirrel out of a cage than a bagged live one

Mink....First sighting this year
woodga replied to Rolfe's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
i used to trap for a few fishing clubs for free membership you would you old skinflint tighter than a fishes arse since the otters have moved back into my local river mink have become scarce otters hate mink with a passion and will drive them away or kill them if they can we used to average ten or so in a season but now we dont bother the otters were all ways spoiling the trap sets we had out -
they allways come in handy
