Well you've formed an opinion of my personality, and character from a couple of lines on a thread,[i don't beleive I've ever posted in this section before],I have no opinion of you what so ever. Isnt that clever juxtapositon of words, conveying an unspoken meaning? I am so quick ,I could kiss myself ps.If you haven't worked out that I am playing you ,perhaps you are thick? ATB Inan.

alot of the Hare shoots I heard about in Norfolk took place near the Sandringham estate around the Bircham and surrounding areas. I had a Invite in the earley 90's after getting friendly with a keeper near by and going on a few local Cock shoots. You're right there was a few foreigners there aswel as people who thought they could shoot probably includeing myself, you might not beleive this but over a course of two days there was somtimes in excess of 400 - 500 Hares shot . when I heard these Figures being bantered about I was gobsmacked but it wasn't surpriseing when you saw the amount fa

I ve been beagling once or twice, I found it very hard work,[ my legs were ageing, even then], I've allways found it curious that coursing got such a bad press from the anti's, yet beagling was hardly ever mentioned, probably because most anti's conception of coursing was formed by organised grey hound coursing where the, admittedly small amount of kills ,can often be seen by the crowd attending, whereas very few, if any of the spectators are usually present when the beagles finally run their quarry down. It could be argued that coursing is more humane than beagling, because in a course a har

cheers for the reply Andy I went on a Hare shoot in North Norfolk a few years back! have to say it scared the crap out of me the way some guns shot straight down the line, at one stage I could here Pellets thuding into the soil around me, I said then never again... All I can say is it was Carnage! anyone who thinks all these Hares was killed cleanly even useing shot as low as 4's is talking total Rubbish, I lost count how many was back ended or needed a second barrel to finish the job or necked. must say I'm a bit miffed how some people who have now admitidly aknowledged they own a Ai

My air rifle is an AA s410, in carbine length, not state of the art ,but a bit better than "some crappy break barrel". There is a lot of assumptive ignorance in field sports, I have noticed that. There is a lot of assumptive ignorance in field sports, you're right there. There's also an awful lot of arrogant and sarcastic tossers as well. I was makeing a general remark, as well you know. When you make," throw away "remarks ,as you did ,they are apt to be challenged . Why not be specific? No danger of being misconstrued then ,is there ? As to ",arrogant and sarcastic to

Awww' C'mon; don't be a spoil sport; I've just finished reading the rest of the 4 pages and I'm still GENUINELY interested why a recommendation should be taken as gospel? As Ian mentioned we all have our own opinions and I believe its reasonable to 'share' those opinions without trying to force them down others throats I would like to hear your opinions; never know you may convert me Oh; Take it from me; cheap red just won't do the meat any justice at all if your gonna use such a fine meat, then use a fine wine as well It really will pay dividends with the flavour Phantom

I dont know why its a recommendation, Appeasment to the Anties perhaps Guess you'll have to ask the guy or girl that wrote the "Recommendation", it certainly is not because it is a larger animal and should not be shot with an air rifle. My gut feelings is its down to the snobbery; meaning that GAME must not be shot with an Air Rifle. But in actual fact I personally would prefere to shoot a hare or a bunny with an Air, Rimmy or Centre fire rather than a hit and miss shotgun. Its all to easy to wound an animal with a shotty if your marksmanship is not up to scratch, where as a single bullet

Red Wine is a staple, but you can cheat by buying a "Home Pride" red wine sauce,[the Chassuer is ok] you really need two, if you are cooking the whole carcass. I've had hare ,jugged, marinaded, spiced, curried, sweet and soured, steamed with a mustard sauce ,steeped in cider. Now, I just put it in the slow cooker with a bottle of cheap red, and assorted veg. Saddle and backlegs for me, the front end, raw for the dogs.

You don't listen to the answers pal when they're laid infront of you! as I recall you asked it of another poster but I fancied a pop at it ... you can quote me as much as you want about your 50yrs experience! but the long and the short of it is the Hare was shot cleanly through the back of the head as you would expect from someone taking one on with a Air Rifle, one thing I can guarantee at the range it was shot in the zone I aimed for... I would expect anyone to take a Hare front end head or chest area with a Rimmy and so they should, you missed totaly what I was saying! this Hare was

stop talking is riddles old mate because you're now sounding silly! are you now telling me that everyone who shoots a Hare with a shotgun stops it cleanly? now you know thats totaly crap! have you ever been on a Hare shoot? you need to go on one and be eduacated ... a head shot in the cranium is a clean kill zone! if you body shot or backend a Hare with a Rimmy do you think it will stop it? wake up and smell the roses old mate you're beggining to repeat yourself over and over again........ Nice one Archie , must say I was a bit shocked expecially these days when the Hunting faternity should be singing from the same song sheet! good to see the shooters sticking to their guns. I think you hit the nail on the head judging from some posts ... Jasp So anyone who does not think that an air rifle is a suitable weapon for killing a hare, is a dog owner? " Singing from the same song sheet"? "a lot cleaner than many I have witnessed shot with rimmy's and shotguns". Where is the logic in that statement? And, where ,is the "sticking together"? Are you

I could recommend myself to be prime minister but it wouldn't mean it was right? a recommendation is exactly what it is! its not law! seen plenty of recommendations not to shoot Fox with a .17HMR but plenty do pretty efficiently....... Perhaps you could answer my question ,instead of making puerile comments?
