Hi...you mention two other horses in the field with yours....who's are they? if you dont know who's they are who owns the land, 'cos they should know who's horses are on there.... if you can, you will need to get them to come forward with this information - that may speed up your case. The problem we all face is that if someone believes they have a right to take the 'property' [in this case horses] in order to make sure they are given proper care etc...then it is not theft as that person believed they have a right to do that. in a case such as this you would have a big problem prooving t

i think it is up to you....how confident you are. i have had a single stick and am fine at the mo with my rimfire out to 115m wiht that....but sometimes i do notice a bit of movement and wish for that bit more stability. hoping to do my dsc1 soon and so got tripod sticks on my xmas pressie list. cant remember the name but similar to x3m1 do some for less than £30. the only thing is that my single stick is light and easy to put up, a bipod will be heavier and a bit more awkward, a tri pod a bit more again, but the stability should be better. a lot of the foxing stuff i help with mean

Hi, I am posting this after a conversation with an Amy Campbell of the Lancashire Wildlife Trust. I was recently approached by this group asking if I would help with their squirrel census. They are interested in North Merseyside and West Lancashire, red and grey squirrel populations. [i am sure they will be doing similar in other areas if you are outside this] They are after finding out about any red squirrel locations/sightings and also about any grey squirrels that you catch/shoot in that area. They have asked me if I would bag any bodies immediately after shooting in zipper type

A few hours out with Belle and Bilbo...
Toka replied to Toka's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
...F''in computer crashed half way through and i had to start from the beginning as well......lol it deffo is easier and more fun being out there doin a bit than writing it up!!!! lol .. ta for all the comments! -
After a PM from Lost Scouse, who only lives less than half an hour away, and a quick meet up at a new military/hunting clothing store nearby to introduce ourselves properly we agreed to head out with both our dogs. Belle is a black Patterdale who is a few years older than Bilbo. She is used to working with a lurcher and is a good bushing and rabbiting dog but she had never been ratting. I was heading out that afternoon to a couple of my haunts and told LS that I would check if he could tag along. After a few hours and a positive response from the farmers I arranged an outing for the follow

Totally agree Cleanspade...it is working for the terriers!!! some may be after more than rats and i hope Bilbo will get into a bit of fox , although most of the sets are off my permission one or two are on it and they are fairly easy ones to start a dog off on!! hope that he may see/be involved in a bit of action this season as he is willing enough, and likes fox scent the best, but still only young so dont want to ruin him...will wait and see. anyway Dabchick, good luck with your working and i hope your dogs do ya proud....each to their own, we should all be supporting each other as

A strong looking bitch Cleanspade!!!

gazzer...sorry its sunk to this, enjoy your Plummer!!! Brian...glad to see you buy the Countrymans , hope your posts are more productive on the Legion Website!! ATB

yup... agree, if you had good reason, and on your way to/from your hunting [where you may need it to gut/cut bush etc] then that is good reason and the officer was in error. you may still be able to get it back if you act now otherwise it will be destroyed. they could have arrested you, confiscated it, but after investigation [and you getting a brief of course] they would have had to release you and give it back. you could also have looked into unlawful arrest as well, cos they could have found all that out by talking to you at the time, and confirming it. of course this all relates

Its been a good thread up till now...dont worry the Plummer comes with some internal politics that causes rows, and also with its fair share of criticism from some 'real dogmen'... there is a lot of criticism from people who may have never seen a good Plummer work, or who held a grudge against Brian Plummer, or who simply want a dog they can work to fox to the exclusion of all else [which isnt what i want but fair play to them that do - although have heard of a few working with the hunts past and present] as with any breed there is good and bad, if your dog does what it wants and you

Thought it was too good to last.... ....one of the keyboard warriors has woken up :boxing: ...he's just a kid though.....so lets not fall out!!!

I doupt that lads. Im not trying to drag plummers down but when the outher breeds of terriers first came around they were properly tested and worked on a regular basis to quarry that cant be worked now. Failiers and runts were culled. How do you expect a hand full of dogs that kill a few mink and rats and the few that do earthwork to acive those standards in this day and age? atb bedrock ...its easy, really [for a start anyway]....people have got to start to get on and respect each other. we may not all have the same opinions but to get things going in the right direction we need to ta

Nice one Danny...glad your permission is productive!!!! ATB

i think maybe if they just concentrated on helping injured/sick animals etc then it would all be tikedyboo...but they do seem to have a hidden agenda and most on here will tell tales of times when they have found animals in need only to be told 'what do you expect us to do....we are too far away/busy/shortstaffed' etc. i am sure there are some who try their best but....

Add another to that list.....

Gazzer...wouldn't be without mine, so far a good worker, see what the next ten months bring before i will have a better idea of how he will turn out. Doing what i want at the moment though...hope to get another in the next few years. All the best with yours!!!! ATB

I am looking a S410 l/h, recently told about a problem of putting 2 pellets up the spout [spoke to hw100 rep at Cheshire g&c fair] he admitted he had an s410 he wouldnt part with but was trying to sell the hw100 and the mechanism that stops you accidentally loading two pellets...is it that big a problem, has anyone had it happen?? my first thought is for the s410 as i have had an s200 and loved it but i just wanted some views on this. it will be used for hunting and occasional zeroing/targetting. Cocker...just to let you know...it doesnt have to be the officer who arrested you that has to de arrest you.....any other officer can de arrest you once you have been arrested. [it usually would be but not in allcases and as they all have the same powers it doesnt have to be] it sounds very much like an unlawful arrest, from what you have said, confirmed by the fact that the custody officer wouldn't authorise your detention...think you have a good case for unlawfull arrest and detention [as you were kept some time]...think it is still paid at about £1000 per hour you were detained!!!

hi, thanks..i am after a l/h one!!! pics may help your sale, many wont buy unless they have at least seen photos of the actual gun....may be worth getting someone with a mobile phone to take some pics of it and email/bluetooth them to you... all the best with the sale...

I would just keep doing what you are....taking him out with ya to areas where all the prey are....he will pick it up eventually and you will start to see the results. in the meantime get the basics going, recall and no, cos when they get a scent they can go...get it drummed into him now!! ATB
