  2. hi, charging my Deben max lamp tonight but i cant remember what the led lights on the charger stand for. there is a red one and a green one. what should it be displaying while charging, and when fully charged.... sorry no idea where the manual is as i have had it for 20+ years...lol [am thinking of getting one of those new lithium deben batteries for £...anyone used one?] dont need anything more powerful as this does for my range of shooting either with an amber/red filter or without... ATB

  4. hi, a friend is after a cable for securing his gun in his 4x4. it wont often be required as on the whole he will be using it if out but for the extra piece of mind should he get distracted/need fuel etc and be away from the car for a few seconds... he hasnt the space for a n safe in the car and i have one of these cables that he likes, trouble is i cant find a similar one. i got mine, i think after them being advsrtised from here? think it was a small home production thing but it works great. i have added the disc to it as it was a rifle one and i was concerned the ball was a bit small for a
  5. i take it that means his zero point must be around the 100 yard point, so shooting down hill he would have to aim low to take into account the angle as the pellet would still be rising? to have a 100 yard zero i would expect it to be a HMR or .22lr??
  6. i think from other posts people have worked out that a .22 pellet would have enough energy to kill a rabbit at that range hit in the head...but that is the problem, at that range you cant be sure of where you would hit and is it worth the risk of wounding rather than a clean kill...
  7. fairly sure the sound of the hit is too close to the sound of the gun going off to be 100 yards. i have shot targets out to 65/70m [possibly more] and it seems you have to wait ages for the impact...???
  8. great post FD...keep them coming!! she does look a small bitch, but does the job well! ATB
  9. great post HH....hadnt read any of yours for a while and was wonderin!!!! hope you managed to get a drink in at some point in the day, ATB

  11. sorry...didnt realise that i handn't mentioned the calibre...its the famed .17HMR well good out to a mile!!
  12. yup...right on all acounts Degsy!!!! Graham has started to move it i think....McAvoys took the Stirling. gotta say i am well happy with the CZ so far, look forward to doing the trigger and refining the zero. will have to get out again soon!! hope you are well! ATB
  13. Well i managed to get out yesterday to try to zero in my CZ, having bore sighted it in my garden. i was only out for an hour or so so didnt think i would get to have a walk with Bilbo, but i took him along to do his own thing while i was fiddling. i set up the targets at 122yards [according to google maps], and used an industrial plastic container as a rest. the wind was blowing though so i wasnt expecting 100% accuracy, from me or the rifle. my first shot hit the paper some 4" above and a couple of inches right. i was happy with that and within another 20 shots i was ready to try a
  14. i agree with the slower approach but each to their own...i was always told that before their adult teeth were through one of the diseases that rats carry could do some damage to the pup...not sure how true this is but didnt want to risk it!! ATB

  17. hi...still got it, up north of Liverpool...it has been at a gunsmiths, it is brand new and he has found a problem. i am after a CZ and he was looking at it to give me a dealers price. as it is now i am returning it to where i got it from and they are going to fix it...will then see whats what!! ATB
  18. its all daft...as long as it aint done for cosmetic reasons [seen firsthand the damage done to non docked dog tail regularly worked to thick cover] spoke to our vets the other day...he wouldnt do it, the argument of risk assessment came up and that we should npt work them if having to remove and appendage [tail] was a possible result...we both agreed that would probably never happen [stopping working our dogs!!] he did say thouhg that the main reason was getting struck off by the royal college of vets if they didnt do something right. there was a trainee vet there as well [city bred] who sa
  19. its nice to see someone using a .22 for those longer shots....hunter rather than target, it is all about getting to know your own rifle!!! [so to speak ] ATB
