In Spanish it’s really normal to say Paki. It has no meaning apart from being the diminutive. I was onced asked directions to the nearest shop (in placa Cataluña) by yep you guessed it…. Well needless to say after living here, words run off and get mixed into your native language! Aye there’s a paki shop round the corner love Fuuck me, I was embarrassed.

Nope! Under thatcher before Major. My gran and pa used to live in council run independent home. After that they went to a private care home (this is in 1986/7). I will never forget, the prick that owned the place had a fuucking BMW! Even as a young kid I knew. Still, in them days at least they good care

Technically they cannot do away with what is promised by the state and bank. I’ve worked with a few banks over the years. Not in a finance capacity, mainly software and processes. They’re the ones you tick the no share my info box with!

No it didn’t. NHS nursing homes were notorious for poor practice. Hence the reason the private sector stepped in. Around the 80’s, if I not mistaken. What has been lost and bless my mum she hasn’t.. is neighbors! God only knows how many times a day her window/door gets tapped and asked if she needs owt. That’s years of feeding kids with bacon and egg butties

Actually it’s about old people kicking off in a nursing home I was just replying to the living in another country and putting down roots bit, I wasn’t trying to be a dick mate. I came here for work and believe me, I have roots here now and so does the eldest.

I’m not disagreeing with you mate but biz is biz. If the care provided is up to scratch, why not as a company capitalise it? Some people need specific types of care. I’d bring my mum here tomorrow to live with me, so would my brother. She ain’t leaving that house unless it’s feet first. You try telling a woman who was born dead what to do
