  4. Well I can't see the astra fuel pump failing on it myself! lol
  5. I take it you're just letting the motor run constantly then? If the battery you are using will not run the machine up to full speed, stop using it - you will damage the battery and the motor. The starter motor is the most power consuming part of a car and the battery is spec'd to suit the current draw, a car battery is the only battery that can supply the power required. You need either some form of speed control or a switch to pulse the motor (the latter is the norm as a solenoid and 50p push to make switch is far cheaper than a raft of solid state electronics or a HUGE resisor ba
  6. As posted above, over 50% is illegal at any time (if you get caught! ) Yet you can wear whatever shade of sunglasses you want under the lid - hypocracy or what. If you are sensible and carry a clear visor too, you'll probably have no issue Oh and stay clear of caberg unless they have improved in the last 5 years, cheap sh!te lids will not perform well! Try Schuberth C1/2 - not 3 though, apparently they're not so good
  7. If you can't get them, just buy the ring type crimp connectors and stick them on your lamp/fag lighter socket whatever it is you normally connect to the battery... Or buy them and some male spade ends too and join them together with a bit of cable!
  8. In - Welcome to the jungle - GnR Hymns - Don't be singing no bl*ddy hymns for me, especially not 'Abide with me'... no-one other than the minister ever sings the hymns anyway! if you really must sing, make it 'i'm a little teapot' Out - Always look on the bright side of life - Monty python What was it Spike Milligan had on his headstone... 'See, I told you I was Sick!' or IF YOU CAN READ THIS - YOU'RE STANDING ON MY NUTS
  9. As above, FYI if you're looking on t'interweb you'll need to know the following abbreviations 1G1W - 1 gang (1 actual switch on the front plate) 1 way (the switch just opens and closes) 2G2W - 2 gang (2 switches on a plate) 2 way (each switch has a common input that swaps between two outputs L1/L2) you can also get 1G2W, 2G1W, 3G1W, 3G2W & then there are intermediate switches... but we'll not mention them for now!
  10. is the box still available???
  11. Some good ones for you: GT85 spray on his windscreen... Expanding foam through a hosepipe as far as you can shove it up his backbox (hmmm choices, choices - i'll leave which one up to you!) Rat/Rabbit carcase hidden in front of his radiator - premankified if you want the stench to start sooner... Do you know a contact phone number/name for him? Set up a new ebay account and list his car for sale - 99p starting bid with his phone number for questions!
  12. Just start with 8 meshes onto the ring/slider then add two meshes onto the last loop of each line till the middle of the net then catch two meshes with the last knot on the way back to the finishing ring. Basically you make a diamond shaped net!

  16. This was also suggested to me today... ferrets are capable of reabsorbing foetuses so maybe not so daft an idea!
  17. Problem you'll have is thats what is known as a midimoto, ISTR it uses a lawnmower engine instead of the usual italian minimoto copy...
  18. Bit of a subjective test there... Different geography, date of capture, camera etc. will have far more bearing on the image than the lens.
  19. Even look at second hand bodies and save the majority of your £700 for glass, if you are confident that you'll stick with canon/nikon etc. you can buy the lens once and use it again and again (if you look after it) as your skill increases and you upgrade bodies - a £2000 camera will produce no better images than a £100 one when fitted with a £50 lens!!!

I've also heard that one... couldn't tell you if it's right or not though!
  21. Sorry if this offends, but you either need to read your manual or sell the SLR and buy a compact camera! Thought this was a forum where us in the know, are available, and willing. To help all those in need of help.I dont look at the books, and find i get more, out of getting out there, and practice, practice, practice.Ive learned more, from folk telling me little tips, than i'll ever learn from any book.18/55.Evin with IS.The 18/55,is not a lens for sport,or action shots mate.I'll get back to you about those 2 lens's mate.At the moment im using the 18/200.But in saying that. The 75/300,is a better

  23. You will want quite a high ISO at this time of year unless you are very well practiced at panning (very hard with dogs etc.) try to stay below 1200 though or you might start to get a lot of noise on your images. I tend to use Aperture Priority, Continuous focus, around f8 (makes focussing easier but will decrease shutter speeds), aim for a shutter speed of 1/100s or less for nice sharp images... Not knowing the 350d's characteristics, I'd suggest just getting closer to the dogs before shelling out on a big bit of glass, you may need to drop the f-stop right down to get acceptable shutt
