  1. Well done mate. It was lovely weather in the Midlands too. Did you eat the quarry? Nice weather for a quick squizzer bar be.
  2. thanks for the tips si i know you know yous guns its going to be used for pest control can you recommend any pellets for this rifle it is standard 12flbs any help would be good it would save me some cash and time lol regards jv I'm pretty sure Davy uses AA Fields in his rifle mate. Pellet on pellet
  3. Great rifle mate, very accurate, a adequate shot count, well balanced, nice weight, what more can you ask for? Nothing wrong at all with your choice of caliber to mate, .22 does the job just as good as any .177. You will just have to know your rifles trajectory a little better at the different ranges from your 2 points of zero. I believe a fill of 180 to 185 is better than a fill of 200 bar as it puts you in the sweet spot for consistency. Si.
  4. Any of them are very good rifles. Id say straight out the box the TX is the better and nicer looking rifle, probably the easiest to shoot accurately too due to it being like a semi tuned rifle straight from the factory. Tune a HW97KT properly and it still will be the worst looking of the 2 in my opinion but id say the far smoother rifle by far and the easiest to shoot accurately due to whats going on inside when fired. I own a AA Pro Sport but as good as it is and it is pretty awesome, for me the best springer straight out the box its not a patch on my tuned HW97KT or ever will be mate in a
  5. cheers Si It should turn out to be a great place mate On another plus note I've not long had a phone call from a guy about another local permission with approx 3000 acres plagued by rabbits so we've got that to visit too..... Things are looking up.... new subscribers daily, new permissions, new rifles & equipment.... Darryl Great news mate. Its good when things start and come together like that buddy. I wish you both all the best with GHTV . Si.
  6. Excellenteeeeeeee Stuart as always mate . You sure can shoot a springer well buddy. Si.
  7. Thanks Phil, I know you would of done the same for me if I would of asked. Si.
  8. The SFS HW97KT is smoother and I think I find it easier to gain good accuracy with due to the low recoil, but the AA Pro Sport is brilliant too. The Spectre today put 4 pellets under a 5p at 55 yards and the 5th pellet less than a .177 pellets width from going under the 5p too. All from a tuned .22 calibre SFS special. You cant fault Tonys work mate. Si.
  9. Hi everyone, Here is just a requested bit of long range sub 12 foot pound shooting for Mauders. Enjoy mate. A full review of the new Pro Sport will soon follow on VerminHuntersTV. Si.
  10. Nicely done Phil buddy. I see the Pro Sport is serving you well Master Jedi
  11. Good episode there lads . Looks like a good permission there. Si.
  12. I like that Mike I really do. What else you got planned 4 it?
  13. A regged Ultra will give you 65 to 75 accurate shots in .177 if filled to 250 bar and not 232 like BSA advise on a out the box model. Tench told me with a reg fitted a 250 bar fill is better. Regarding accuracy of a Ultra I am 99% sure that if its filled correctly 190 to 200 bar none regged and you have done your pellet testing correctly. If you shoot it correctly it will match a rifle 2 to 3 times its cost. BSA barrels are amongst some of the best on the market mate. Not used your RWS rifle but know the capability of a Ultra mate and for me if I was told I could only have 1 p
  14. Just spent all day with Davy in SFS getting the Spectres tuned to 10.9 FPE now they are run in and Davy as just put his HW97KT in for a S2T with Tony. On chronographing my HW97KT it had run in so well now after thousands of pellets it was doing almost 14 FPE. Tony stripped it and dropped it to 11 FPE. Even less recoil now. I shot a 30 shot group after in SFS range all that would go under a 1p. Amazing rifles.
  15. If I ever won a good lump sum on the National Lottery I would get together with Davy, give him a large lump sum and together buy a plot of land and have a proper 50 m indoor range built with cafe, showers and a few small rent - able corri mec type accommodations, and open it as a club to all. That's how i would spend my remaining day enjoying a hobby and a job at the same time . We would then run all the meets at ours. Si.
  16. Phil if you want i can send you some small self seal bags of: RWS Super Field Falcon Accuracy Plus JSB Exacts FX pellets And RWS Super H Point if you want to try in your Pro Sport. Just PM me your address and Ill get them on the way to you mate. Si.
  17. Oh I forgot this true story too I was told about last Friday. A invalid who was in a wheel chair was also told that he could not shoot in this clubs HFT comp because he couldn't shoot from the prone position due to his condition. So basically he was turned away and banned from HFT at their club. Who would believe there are people and clubs about like this hey?
  18. Fight, Fight, Fight, . Springers rule and PCPs drool . No on a serious note it doesnt matter what you shoot as long as your happy doing it and get the same enjoyment as i do from shooting.
  19. I'm sure this is just a 1 off occurrence gents from a up his own butt, anal, old doddering, arm chair air gun enthusiast, and there are tonnes of clubs out there that welcome young and old, rifles from B2 to Daystates with open arms . I've witnessed this snobbery and people being stuck up myself. I was one of the 4 lads off here last year that got basically laughed at and told you couldn't zero your springer from a bench (table top) and you needed to be in the prone position or you wouldn't hit anything when we came to shoot the HFT targets Funny that because all 4 of us scored r
  20. Thanks for the comments lads. Yes LJ is something very special. No Simon I have already talked to Lj about it and said if it doesn't need tuning and shoots well enough without the old boynggggggggggggg that some lesser engineered rifles seem to have, I'm keeping it just how she bought it for me . It will also be very nice to do a review of it as it is for VHTV to show people how it performs. I'm sure with a bit of pellet testing and a cleaned barrel it will be good enough for hunting and plinking at the normal ranges we shoot at. Si.
  21. Yes that what I thought too VM. I'm hoping its ok and i wont have to get anything done on it, but if i need to I'm sure a stage 1 tune by SFS would turn it into a super little shooter. I really like the HW35 and missed mine when it got stolen.
  22. Without upsetting or meaning to upset anyone that reads this I believe and have witnessed this myself that you can sit a pcp on a bipod and ask a child that as never shot before to put the cross on the target at 25 yards and pull the trigger and they will do it easily enough if no wind is present and the rifle is zeroed properly etc. This would not be the case if you asked them to do it with a springer, be it tuned or not. Now i know that a lot of the lads i shoot with only shoot pcps but i also know they are very good shots in the wind and at all ranges and are far better a shot than
  23. Lets be real and honest here lads How many of us lads with sub 12 air rifles that shoot at night actually and honestly shoot rabbits at 50 to 70 yards anyway more than what you can count on your hand a year? I shoot a lot and can honestly say i don't and if i did Id miss 90% of the shots due to range finding errors at night . 20 to 35 yards is the probable normal ranges I shoot at at night 90% of the time unless shooting rats or feral and then its about 10 to 15 yards max 90% of the time with the odd 25 to 30 yarder if down in the barns in Oxfordshire with Davy. If i needed
